• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SPYDER STALKER
Started out Saturday morning to meet up with Deb and the Michigan Spyder riders. You all know the preparation that goes into an exciting all day trip!! The plan was to meet up with Eric and Rob (Ohio Spyder riders) at Fort Migs Perrysburg and on to Michigan at Joe's Gizzard Shack. Things were great till about seventy five miles from home and Tim said "did u hear that" and "I said no but i felt it"! we pulled over to check it out. After carefull inspection we found about six teeth missing from the drive belt.....not good!! What to do?? Tow, rent car, get trailer, or drive to Honda East. One vote No (Tim) one vote Yes (Annie). Who won??... "the Spyder lives"!! Off to Honda East we cautiously went on four out of eight legs. After updating Eric and Rob we went on to Honda East. Arriving at Honda East Eric and Rob decided to meet us there and not leave us behind.
At first the mechanics were not able to come up with a quick fix. They were busy preping other new bikes for delivery and could'nt find the belt in stock. Meanwhile James in the parts department would not give up!! He investigated the numbers and came up with TWO in stock. Things were lookin up!! Rob and Eric stayed busy answering questions by interested onlookers!!
Half functioning belt off new belt on and "El Heffe" was ready to roll!! Not a complete wash... The day turned out to be enjoyable and informative. Thanks to the guys at Honda East and good friends who didnt give up on us or leave us behind!! Maybe next time our Michigan friends sorry we never quite made it!! Thank you to all, Annamarie!! tajohn

Wow - glad you were able to find a dealer that could do this--- especially on a SATURDAY!

:2thumbs:

Reminder to self: ORDER SPARE BELT! nojoke

Tim and Anna Marie, we did miss you guys but mostly we are glad you are all safe and sound. I think the next time we plan something like this we should be exchanging cell #'s so we can contact one another. Also, so glad your Spyder is healthy again. See you soon.

Really glad to hear that you are okay we were wondering what happened. You are always welcome to join us Michiganders for a ride.

That was my first thought- did you run thru a patch of gravel or something??:dontknow:

Nice to hear about great service!

I just don't think that would do it... wondering if all the missing 'teeth' of the belt were continuous? Perhaps a loose belt and front sprocket spinning and tearing them off?

Strange indeed.

So the $299 question---- was this covered under warranty? Kinda of doubt it--- but wondering.

We wish we knew what we encountered. When we first felt the thump there was only an 8 inch section missing. When we arrived at dealer 50% of theeth were gone.
Your theory sounds correct -the spinning on the sprocket took the rest out.....
We are ready for Spyderfest with our new belt.

Deb,
You are absolutely right ref: exchanging phone #s it is important. Guess what - we have yours on a 3x5 card on our desk (here at home).
