When the bloody weather settles and the snow goes away so that I can move my Spyder from the back yard patio to the garage, I'll replace the stock muffler with the Yoshimura R77 that is in a box on the garage floor and install the K&N air filter that is on a shelf in the garage. Would y'all recommend that I disconnect the battery negative while I'm doing the mods so that the computer can update itself straightaway after I push the starter button?

Well now, I got no response to my question from anybody, so I installed the Yosh pipe then started the motor and let it idle for about 15 minutes, then shut it off. waited about 15 minutes, then started it again. Idle is smooth, response is instant. I think it'll be OK. Oil change coming up soon, so the air filter gets changed then.

Also installed a KAOKO throttle lock. Operation is similat ot a throttlemeister, but seems to be easier to operate. I give an update after I've used it for a bit.

Cat Delete

Just came back from a quick 50 mile run after installing the Pitbull bypass more power noticed and quicker acceleration response and ran cooler next month JD air filter.:yes::yes:

I installed the part from Lamont and an Akrapovic muffler. There was a palpable increase in low end performance. The engine adapts to the reduced back pressure automatically. In addition to the increased performance and better sound, I am pleased that the extremely hot removed part is no longer cooking away at my Spyder. I would advise anyone who makes such a modification to save the parts for the next owner.

I had similar modifications made to my Vespa. The result is not as obvious but the fear that an Akrapovic equipped Vespa inspires in the pirate population is noteworthy.
