Giving a little bump here. Just wanted to let you all know that I have all the parts ready to begin assembly. And I got the OK from a buddy of mine to allow me to use his MIG welder this weekend.
I am going to do something that may make the engineers here cringe.
I am going to cut a wedge out of the BRP hitch and level it out. I don't like the way it tails off following the line of the swingarm, so I am going to "mod" it, cut the wedge out with a cutoff wheel, leaving the bottom of the hitch still intact, then pull it up the 1/2 to 3/4 inches to level it out and mount the golf bag, as well as the luggage/cooler carrier.
When finished, I will have a BRP hitch that is level with the riding surface, that I can easily hook the trailer to the ball, or use the adapter to attach the luggage/cooler carrier, OR the golf bag carrier. I should have all the bases covered that way.
I picked up a nice hard side travel case that I will be mounting. Got it off Ebay.
I'll be sure to take pics and post total costs when the project is complete.
If the golf travel case arrives this week, I plan to complete the project on Sunday. Honestly, with the use of that MIG welder (with which I have experience using) I should be able to complete this mod in one afternoon.
I'll keep you updated!!
