• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Carbon wheels

I you want to remove weight, rotating mass and unsprung is one of the best places.

The install is subtle, but sweet. Obviously the machined hub is Spyder specific, is the wheel also Spyder specific or was it designed for a small car and works on the Spyder on account of the hub being an adapter of sorts?

I assume you may also be going with a vented brake disc since there will no longer be the aluminum wheel acting as a rotating heatsink, and carbon fibre is not a good conductor of heat.

Very cool setup, looks good though not a fan of the camo paint scheme, or camo color choice.

Are they 185/40 or 185/30 tires on 17" rims?? Can't quite see... :dontknow:

But I'd guess that whatever they are, they aren't Kendas!! ;)

I visited the RotoBox website and FB page.

These are moto specific wheels and not car wheels adapted to the Spyder.

Rotobox has a lot of info about the wheels construction and manufacturing process posted.

Not being a car wheel, but designed for motorcycles, the specs indicate the wheel can handle the static weight loads, but since a Spyder does not lean, I must wonder if the bending loads without leaning will be exceeded.

I love the look, engineering and construction process. This is a high quality product. The sport bikes and race bikes using the wheels are not slow by any means.

No doubt the Spyder will take on a F1 look. However those V twins need Aprillia mods and tuning, plus hand made suspension arms and Ohlins or similar to bring the rest of the Spyder up to the level of the wheels.

Thank you for the photos, as a carbon geek, I will be smiling all day.

No Kendas would be my guess too. Visit the website and they have some gogeous sportbikes and racebikes there.

The FB page, had me thinking they may have done a Chopper show bike too.

They look good on the H2.

That's olny $245.00 per pound weight savings. So for a small investment of $5,390.00 you can shave 22# off your Spyder

Just got the price for a set of carbon rims, tires and adapters €3500,- ($3735,-).
A little bit too expencive for me (wife wasn't happy:p)
So I orded a set of SHAMROCK wheels and a set of wilbers shocks front and back.
Going to the dealer on Thursday. Will post pictures when its done.

Wilburs should make for a better handling machine. The wheels will make you look pretty...
