• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am new here , hope this is ok to ask . I traded for my 2011 RT a few weeks ago , and it had a Cable in the Trunk that plugs into a small round Jack in the Trunk , a few have told me the input is for a older version of Apple Ipod , but..... seem to be hard to find , ( a good one ) my question is , If I order an adapter that will Connect a USB stick to this small round Jack , will it run through the factory sound system , and if so can I control whats on the USB Stick with the sound controls ???

I don't really know anything about Bluetooth , do all RT sound systems Have Blurtooth access ??? and I really don't have anything to play the music from either , but I Do have a lot of good music saved on USB Sticks .

Bluetooth didn't get included in the Spyder until the 2020 model. USB connection came in 2018. Your easiest to use option is to buy an older model of iPod and transfer your music to it using a computer and audio program.

From what I understand and I used an adapter to connect my iPhone to that cable, it is specifically to connect a playing device, phone or iPod, to the Spyder's audio system. The USB stick is not a playing device; it's just a storage device. I use the MP3 player and an internal mini-SD card on my Zumo 590 to listen to music.

ok , thanks everyone , I am 70 years old , and this stuff is kinda over my head , I'm an Older retired Mechanic/Musician and did both for a Living for many years . but I am Old School . to say the least , I have an Ipod but I guess its the wrong version , ( too new ) maybe .. so I'll hunt an older version on ebay maybe .... but thanks again , ohhh and I sure do Love my Spyder , I had just about give up on riding my Goldwing this year , this Spyder is 10 years old , but only had 13,000 miles on it when I got it a month ago , and I have put about 1,000 miles on it since i got it , it will help me to ride longer and enjoy life longer , and I can already see this is a good group of folks , and Thank you all again.

Actually Bluetooth started with the new dash configuration in 2018. I gave up on BRP Connect and use Bluetooth off an old phone for tunes on my 2019. Functional sorta maybe if the stars all align right.

We have the Bluetooth set up on our 2015 RT and my wife uses it to listen to music, phone etc. However, we also have an older iPod with hours of music on it and yes you can control it through the bikes system. I can forward or reverse and adjust the volume when the iPod is in play.

Is that BT to her helmet you mean, or BT from the the player to the bike's sound system? Or both?

USB connection came in 2016 I believe. 2017 for sure. It could read a usb stick directly, but lost that ability in 2018. All models with a aux audio input can plug into a BT receiver. They are cheap and easy to get.
