• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

WTB: Can Am trailer

I am looking for a trailer to pull behind the Can Am, I have pulled one with my Goldwing for years and now have moved into the Can Am life and need to find a trailer for my wife and I to travel. If you have one or know of one for sale, I would be interested to hear from you.
Thanks.

You can tow any trailer. BRP says the max towing weight is 400 lbs. Some have exceeded that weight. If you still have the trailer you towed with your Goldwing, you probably could tow it with your Spyder. Hint: They look nicer when painted to match your Spyder. What model and year is your Spyder?

In May I will have a hitch available that came with the 2018 RTL I bought in Washington State. Seller had already removed it, and included it along with passengers arm rest that he removed.

The trailer I have for the Goldwing is black, but the issue I am afraid of is the lighting. The Can Am is a CANBUS system and the Escapade is regular ground lighting. I know all the bikes, Goldwing, Harley, Can Am etc are going to CANBUS lighting and I have bought the harness that's a plug and play from Lamonster, but I haven't tried it. I am not worried about the bike's ability to tow it, just the lighting.

I don't know if the Lamonster cable is an isolator cable, if it is, no problem, no matter what your trailer has for lighting.

Housekeeping post that appears in every Ad:

Please make sure that you read and follow the directions in the READ FIRST! Sticky (& all the posts in that thread) that's found at the top of this forum section and linked below:

paying particular heed to:
  • the need for regular posts from you, adding to the thread (& not just edits of the first post!) in order to keep the Ad alive;
  • if you add any pics (and you really should, if you want to sell!), the need to insert no more than 6 images per post as thumbnails iaw the 'Please upload, attach, and insert any pics/images as Thumbnails' Sticky, especially if you want everybody to be able to view them/your Ad, leaving at least a space or three between each image! (Having at least one pic in your opening post of the Ad/thread will mean that your Ad will have the first pic shown in your 1st post here appear on the index page - which helps get viewers to look at what you've got/on offer; and posting an extra pic or two in new posts added to the Ad/thread regularly over the coming weeks/months will also satisfy the first point above ;));
  • do not display personal contact details, unique identifiers, or discuss prices, payment, payment methods, or negotiate at all on the public pages, use the Forum's DM facility to exchange contact details &/or conduct any/all negotiations; and
  • the need to properly finalise the Ad by marking it Sold once you've finished with it, even if you haven't actually 'sold' (or purchased) anything, don't want to sell/buy any more, or just don't need the Ad any longer! ;)
Good Luck with your search. (y)

I have 2 trailers. A Lee-sure Lite camp trailer, and a home built utility trailer made up from Harbor Freight components. Both tow well and function properly. I purchased a secondhand OEM Can Am hitch and trailer electrical assembly for my year Spyder from a seller on this site and had it installed by a certified BRP Can Am technician/mechanic, to ensure the installation was done properly. I've read on this site and on other sites of owners trying to install non OEM trailer towing components and ending up with problems and spending more time and money just trying to get it all to work correctly. JMHO, go OEM with a professional installer and save time and $$$$ and be safe. I have FOBO's on the trailers too.

I would believe the Show Chrome Accessories Electronic Fuse Block RT for the 2020+ from LaMonster would safety connect up your trailer lighting. I've purchased one, but, haven't got around to installing it so I can power our Bushtec trailer.
