Can-Am "Pre-Season Sales Event" is Impossible to Take Advantage Of...

Okay...here's what Can-Am Said

Direct quote from their email to me this evening:

"In response to your e-mail I'm sorry to advise that BRP would not be able to honor the 2-year extended warranty offer on the 2015 Can-Am Spyder F3-S that you will be purchasing.

Dealers are independent businesses and are not franchised BRP dealers it is up to them to make that decision not BRP. Each dealer can choose to participate or not in the promotions BRP offers, you could verify with other dealers in your area, however this is out of BRP's control to apply or not the promotion on the order or the sale."

I'm going to talk to my dealer tomorrow. There is so much conflicting info in this thread (THANK YOU, EVERYONE) that I'm not giving in this easily.

Talked to another dealer.....

This one says that without a VIN, he can't register the warranty and take advantage of the offer (similar to what the original dealer said.)

He said that he thinks Can-Am is aiming this offer at 2015 RT's, which he has on the floor, and not the F3's, but there's always a chance they will extend the warranty after the first of the year. (Can't really take that to the bank, can you?)

Back to the drawing board....I'm calling my original dealer next.....then I'm going to call Can-Am.....

:shocked: Try telling the dealer that without the extra 2 years on the warranty; you're going to have to try shopping elsewhere.
Tell them to hold, and back-date the paperwork; once the V.I.N. shows up on their screens.

You know, that did occur to me. That BRP is targeting certain products knowing that delivery dates for other models (i.e., F3's) will put them outside of the promotional offer. I wonder how many will purchase and F3 thinking they will get the extended warranty not realizing that the fine print locks them out.

Marketing.... You have to keep your eyes open and your ears cleaned out. Good catch on this one. At least Spyderlovers will be informed.

I ordered my F3 on 10/07/14 the dealer went into his BRP system and looked up what the promotions were on the F3 he then printed out a form titled Can- Am Pre-Season Sales Event Worksheet it states that you have to take delivery by April 30, 2015 to receive the extra 2 year warranty. It also states you have to give them $250.00 non refundable deposit. This is a BRP form not a dealer form. this is similar to what is required to snow check a new snowmobile. Ask you dealer to look up this form and show it to you.
