Can-Am "Pre-Season Sales Event" is Impossible to Take Advantage Of...

This "sales event" gives you a 2-Year B.E.S.T. warranty for purchasing any 2015 no later than Jan 31st. Last week I pre-ordered an F3-S (which I would have purchased then had it been available) but I can't get it (not my fault, this is Can-Am's delivery date) until February...which is just after the "Sales Event."

Question: Don't you think this warranty "special" should apply to people who pre-order prior to January 31st?

Hopefully someone at Can-Am is reading this forum, because ONE of the things that made me go to the dealership was getting this warranty as part of the deal. I'm just saying.....:banghead:

Does it read 'purchase' or 'take delivery' before....??

I assume purchase would mean to sign the sales contract.

The VIN is the problem

You can't really have a contract without a VIN. I guess it is possible that they will have that in January, even though delivery is set for February. Perhaps the dealer can get that in advance. All the dealer said is, "Maybe they'll extend it."

I think I will try contacting Can-Am and see what they have to say about this.
Stay tuned.....

They had the same promotion last year, I made the deal in Jan. and took delivery in April and it included the extra 2 year warranty...

BRP isn't going to design a promotion to boost early sales that can't be taken advantage of. You don't need a VIN number. If you have a signed contract to purchase with a deposit before the end of the program then you should be good to go. The whole idea is that BRP is trying to get you to pull the trigger BEFORE Spyders start delivering. Otherwise, what's the point?

Once they have 2015 product sitting on the showroom floor I'd say there won't be any more deals to be had on a 2015 for quite some time.

The shame in all of this is that the dealer, the 'Go To Guy' in all of this, (who should know) doesn't seem to have a clue. HE should be running this down with his BRP rep and getting you the straight scoop.

:agree:

If this is a BRP promotion, it will be good at other dealers. If your dealer can't figure it out, go somewhere else.

Also, the dealer has the discretion of offering the same deal at any time. Pitbull gave me the same offer after BRP's ended.

I pre-ordered my F3 last month and my dealership told me that I get the extra 2 years warranty. I'll bet you get it too. Call your dealership and ask about it.

Thanks for all of the input...I've gone to the source

Emailed Can-Am and clearly explained the situation. I received a very bureaucratic non-answer from their customer service office explaining that dealerships aren't owned by BRP. Not the question i asked, of course. :gaah:

I just responded to that email (see below) and asked the question again:

"Will Can-Am honor the 2-year extended warranty offer on the 2015 Can-Am Spyder F3-S I am purchasing. I have placed a cash deposit on the Sypder and will take delivery as soon as it arrives at the dealer. The dealer has been told by Can-Am that it won’t arrive at their dealership until February, which is after the expiration date of the sale. I am trying to buy a 2015 prior to January 31st (as stipulated in the terms of the sale) but since you won’t be able to deliver it by then, I won’t be able to finalize the sale until February…through no fault of my own.

QUESTION: Since I have complied with the spirit of the sale by ordering the F3…that is, I have attempted to buy the Spyder prior to the expiration date of the sale…will Can-Am give me the free two-year extended warranty when the purchase is finalized?"

So...I'm waiting for their response. I'll pass it along when I get it.

This is what I show, and I quote.....

"Anyone confirming a purchase in North America of a new Can-Am Spyder with their local dealer before January 31, 2015 will receive the standard 24-month BRP Limited warranty plus a 24-month B.E.S.T. extended service contract."

So if you have a "confirmed" order, you are going to get a 4-year warranty; 24 months BRP and 24 months B.E.S.T.

...Nothing in there about "taking delivery"; is there? :D
Thanks!
