• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am thinking about a ca am cb for my rt limited , can I get some In put from owners who have them as to satisfaction and recommendations ? Thanks in advance . Clint

I haven't had one myself but I have good friends that have had lots of problems with them on their 14 RTs. Have you considered using a Bluetooth helmet communication like Sena or Scala? CBs are so old school.

SpyderAnn Yes I have , in fact I now have on my limited a 10 s and a sm10 dogle , and the inter com works fine , but you are limited as to people you can talk to , where as with a cb you can talk to other riders , truckers and others ' Clint

CB problem

We recently bought a 2016 Spyder RT Limited and my husband installed the CB and we have haven't been able to use the CB. We have J&M headsets and we bought a lower cord for it also. We're looking into bringing it to a dealer here and ask that they re install it for us. Any suggestions?

Read about my experiences with a CB in these threads. It is now working great. In fact the other day a GW rider said I was coming through too loud. It might have been the mike setting which I lowered.

With regard to CB vs Bluetooth I agree with your comment about number of people you can talk to and distance. Sometimes in this world newer is not better.

Since you already have BT setup for your helmets take a serious look at the Sena BT interface for handheld CBs. It is a whole lot less expensive but it does have a couple of downsides. You have to use a separate PTT button. There is no way to tap into the bike PTT button. Second, you have an extra item hanging on your bike somewhere, or stuffed into a compartment.

CB 2014 RT-S

I have a 2014 RT-S with a BRP installed CB and have had it for two years without any problems. We us it to talk to other bikes, as we ryde with Goldwings at times. We also had one on our 2011 RT-S with no problems. Just letting you know.

CB on YOUR SPYDER

After you recover from the SHOCK :yikes: of the cost of a BRP CB
Give me a call, You can get a high quality CB that you can bluetooth
into your helmet for around $300
1/4 or so the cost of the BRP unit and it will work as well or better

While there are still a few 27mHz CB users in Aust, the most common CB's in use around here these days are UHF, so the BRP CB isn't much good to us! :(

So I use a handheld unit with a plug in VOX capable speaker/mic that fits into the chin bar of my full face helmet, altho I have been toying with the idea of fabbing up a Bluetooth dongle to connect it to the UClear units in our helmets on occasion; but so far, just having a quiet sit down for a while & waiting for the feeling to pass has sufficed!
