There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I feel that he's justified in his frustrations. I love riding my :spyder:but-but- IF the dealer would off told me that , at time of purchase, I would BBQ my foot>strong gas smell<
gas drips>maybe catch on FIRE<oil drips<MAY leave you stranded.....and most of all :shocked: be in the SHOP more than you're gona be riding. I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED IT !

My husband and I have a rule. Never buy the first year of any vehicle. We give them at least a year to get the kinks out. We have had fairly good luck by using that philosophy...

We tend to do the same, I took a gamble on the ST-S, but thought most of it's parts have been used for years.
Thanks to Spyderider Jim, I am back ridding my Spyder..:bowdown: Wire is connected to each latch and I am able to open my frunk and seat using them. Called Apache Motorcycles Mesa yesterday and they are going to look at it Sat. Would have bought my Spyder from them in the first place but they are closed on Mon. and that's when I decided I had to have one. Have heard that when putting on my triaxial handlebars that the cable may have not been put on the pulley right which helped cause this problem. Will come back with a reply Sat. Yes, I like ALL of you who have wrote, LOVE to ride my Spyder. I actually feel safer on it than I do in my truck, in the less than 3 weeks I have been able to ride it I have 1800 miles on it. I find excuses to ride it!! Yes, I do enjoy my Spyder, but I am not a mechanic, and its only as good as its service department IMO.

We bought ours from Desert Dog. Have had service done from both. Apache mechanics seem to be pretty good so far. They are even to use SL as a reference when I have showed them possible issue that have been resolved here. Other than the wait for them to get to it, usually a few days. Other than that its been pretty good.

I have the same scars - There were three dealers within 70 miles, when I bought my RS, then the best one went out of business, and the closest one couldn't sell me a free hot dog. Over the years the dealer that's roughly 70 miles away became a first class act, with a terrific service department, and top flight sales team. They know and LIKE Can Am products. Finding and supporting a good dealer is the most important part of Spyder ownership - IMHO.
For me, even with a terrific dealer, 140 miles is a joke for servicing a toy, and, at my age, wrenching on a Spyder is more effort than I want to expend.
Before anyone buys a Spyder, I would recommend spending a couple of Saturdays (or whatever days off you have) at your local dealers, talking to the TECHS. Make sure they can meet your needs. A good trusted dealer can provide a reliable pre-trip service, that will give you confidence your Spyder will get you there and home.
If you are going on a long trip, check with the locals on this Forum, and find a GREAT dealer - If you arrive and have any concerns or questions, have them do a quick once over, before you head home. The Spyder IS a complex toy, and need to be treated as such.
Just some thoughts...

Everyone of us that has a :f_spider: has a certain amount of passion for this extraordinary bike. I, too, have fallen into the "trap" of finding a good dealership from which to purchase and service my bike. Since I purchased the bike on the 15th from RideNow of Chandler, I have been back and forth for more than 5 or 6 times in order to get things corrected to my satisfaction. With more than $30,000 invested, BRP should step in and protect its interest. When we ryde into areas where people ask about the :f_spider:, we SELL it for BRP. But, it is difficult to recommend a good dealership, based on my own experience. Good luck in getting your bike fixed to your satisfaction. It's like no other bike you have ever ridden before.

I did that with: Subaru Forester 2001 (first edition), Honda 750 Hondamatic (mid 70's), Yamaha Venture back in the 80's. 2008 Spyder (GS) second to hit AK, 2009 Spyder RS--an early SE5, 2010 Spyder RTS- Premier Edition. Would have no problem with the 2014 RT-S either.
So far, none of my first year models have turned out to be mechanically troublesome.
