• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Busting common hydration myths

That is pretty much what I posted on the other thread, but then, I cheated, since I have been to many open water and desert survival schools which taught just about the same things.

Yes sir, been there done that myself. Common sense prevails however way too many folks don't use it. Our brains are our ecm, ecu, and pcm, all rolled into one unit. Follow it closely.

Since I moved to the desert, I also learned in a big hurry to carry water no matter where I go.

don't just carry it, drink it. It stores better in your body anyway. It is not doing any good in a water bottle. People have died of dehydration while rationing water.

:agree: A fair while back, I got to retrieve a O/S Tourist from a m/bike accident in the desert, and when we got there, he'd pushed his bike into the ONLY bit of patchy shade to be found for miles and was sitting in the blazing sun in all his riding gear but his boots, with his feet in a tiny and rapidly evaporating puddle of muddy water left over from the last short burst of rainfall BUT NOT DRINKING ANY OF IT while he was sooo close to die-ing it wasn't funny!! He did survive, but it was touch & go for quite a while!:yikes:

As someone who shouted a lot at me used to yell..."If you've got it, drink it! "
