• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bumps in the paint

I just noticed that small bumps have risen in the paint on my RT. While they are the worst on the front, they appear all over the bike. Has anyone else seen these?

Hey Mike, this is Chris. I haven't had that problem. We had some painting at our townhouse development, and I was worried that I might get some damage. Fortunately none occurred.

Has there been any spraying in your area? Just a thought.

If they are under the paint it usually means there was moisture present in the supply system when painted but I would not think this would be the case from the factory, usually in aftermarket paint jobs without a good water seperation system or a good system that has not been maintained. If this is the case they will be small 1-2 mm in diameter, near perfect bumps about the size of a small pin head. You will be able to push them down with your fingernail.

No Chris, there hasn't been any spraying. These seem to have developed over time.

Water in the paint lines (or where ever) would have shown up immediately, wouldn't they? I've had my Spyder for almost six months and these have just recently developed.

Guess I'll just let the dealer handle the bubbles...

Thanks guys, and Chris, I still hope to get over to compare arm rests in the near future.

Mike

Have you parked under any trees, especially in the spring and summer. The sap from some trees will ooz out of the leaves and with a breeze can give you small hard spots that can be the size of pinheads. See if Goop cuts thru it....

If you want an opinion and have a local body shop you trust, they will recognize these instantly if that is what it is and if it is not I bet they can give you some answers before you go see what your dealer sais.

Good idea StripperKing, there is a local shop I've dealt with and they seem pretty good, I'll check with them. Thanks for your thoughts...
