• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OK, what is the best stuff anyone has found to get the dead bugs off bike with minimal effort? Especially fairings, lights and Baker wings?

Someone suggested spray the windshield with hydrogen peroxide in a previous thread. The bugs are supposed to just melt away.

I am waiting for bug season to try this out. About two more weeks and the B-52's will be out. (mosquitos).

Last time I was at the I MC show at seattle this vendor offered me this ROYAL BLUE and it really works. Here is their online www.royalbluewax.com Another good thing is it's MADE in AMERICA. I recommend this stuff I use it all the time.

Lay a wet towel on the windshield for a while and most will come off easily. Hydrogen peroxide can help with the rest. To be honests, almost anything wet does the job. While wet, a fingernail will scrape off the worst ones without scratching the windshield.

Always use dryer sheets

wet bike, wet dryer sheets, light pressure, wash bike, rinse and dry....:yes:

BUGS

I use a 50/50 mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water. Spay on wherever bugs are, let set for couple minutes, wipe clean with WET microfiber cloth, then dry with a DRY microfiber cloth. I have done this for 2 years with excellent results and NO scratches anywhere.

I use good old Bug Slide. The HD dealer in town actually carries it so it is convenient when I run out. Diana

:agree: with using Bug Slide but it isn't thre cheapest thing to use. Also Turtle Wax makes a product called Bug and Tar Remover which works well and is about a third of the cost!:2thumbs:

Towel soaked in hot water and let sit until bug residue is loosened. Towel is then used while wet to wipe bugs away. No scratches yet, and is all recycled, except for the bugs.

Wet the bike & keep it wet. Spray mist SimpleGreen all over the surface wash the bike with mild dish soap and warm water.
This is the best cleaner that is not harsh I have found. It also works great on your wheels & tires to get them very clean and
back to Black. It's a great substitute to the old white wall cleaner. Also, if you have an older white car mix it in with your
dish soap car wash & it will make it super White again... I love this stuff..

Can you tell..?

Why do you wash the bike with mild dish soap when you already have it covered with SimpleGreen?

This works!

love bugs

For the swarms of love bugs in florida that stick to everything I use a mild car wash liquid in hot water , scrub lightly with delicate surface sponge several times, rinse then dry with microfiber towel.
