• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BUDS and extended service warranty

My ACS on a 2014RTL SE6 does not seem to be functioning properly, and it was suggested on the forum that the BUDS settings may have changed or be incorrect now for some reason (16,000 miles total), because the system does hold air.....but goes on and off much too often when on the road or at a stop sign, etc. I tested .... per some good forum input..... and the movement with one rider on, is only 1" total, whereas I'm told it should be around 2" total per spec. This problem was first noticed by me and my wife because the pump was seeming to come on much to often while getting ready to ride, or riding or sitting at a stop sign etc.
Now the question. My dealer says that checking the BUDS settings is NOT covered under the extending warranty (even if they are the problem), and in fact even if there are BUDS updates from BRP for any reason, the installation of those is not routine and aren't covered either. I.E., asking for any BUDS checks will cost you (labor fee), if no PART problem is found !!
Is this the case everywhere or just my new dealer ? BRP......any response that will clarify ??

As I see it...

It's a dealer thing. I have not seen charges for updates. I do my own work and stop by the dealer for a check up and they don't charge for it. Some do depends on who and your relationship. If they should find stored codes pointing to an issue then they will point it out and let you know if it is covered or not. Remember most normal wear items are not. :spyder:

That system is garbage. My bike has been in Malcolm Smiths for two weeks. One week to get authorization from BRP to do the extended warranty work, one week to get the part. It just came in today and is on the schedule to be repaired. MAYBE I get to pick it up in the morning. I understand the newer compressors are different than the older ones. At least the part number is different. Metal instead of plastic. But it still doesn't hide why these things are burning out so much. The compressor runs too much. Go over a dip it runs. Go over a rock it runs. There is no delay to allow the bike to return to where it was. I would like a manual switch to turn it off on occasion. Or a shock that doesn't cost more than the compressor/bladder unit.
