• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Budget Cuts

What's Next???

Given the current state, it is only a matter of time that ALL Branches of the Military follow suit. Soon, there will be nothing left to cut. But rest assured, Congress will still maintain their yearly raises. Didn't mean to go there, but truth is truth.

Spending Tax payers dollars to sponsor sports or anything as frivolous is outrageous in my book. I would like to see a full accounting of how every dollar is wasted in all branches and levels of government and all the perks that are not mentioned as part of the salaries. When the first lady publicly announces she is broke my eyes roll back in my head. She has no concept of what the working class deals with every day while being taxed at every turn. She can't afford a new gown.... oh bo ho! lol.

I don't know if I would call it "Sponsoring" the Sport...
It is perfectly normal for the Military Branches to advertise. It's what it takes to maintain a strong and viable military capacity.
If you consider the perceived marketplace for NASCAR; youthful males figure prominently.
I'd call it a very smart positioning, of their advertising efforts.

Just watch...

:agree:
Mark my words, as these changes start to take AFFECT, the EFFECT will be felt in and by our Military. (I can't remember which one is right, so I used them both)

But hey,

we're eveyones best buddy these days. Haven't you noticed? Besides, a strong military presence might offend one of those BF's. :p

(The second one was correct for both spots...)

One other thing to remember is this, Congress does not have to vote for a raise for themselves, they have to vote not to get a pay raise for themselves. Thus when they say to us, hey I did not vote to get a pay raise, it is true.

I still believe that a Retired Navy Chief should be our President at least for one term just to reduce the salary of the congress and put them back on the Social Security System.

I will be quiet now:banghead::banghead:

"CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The National Guard said Wednesday it will end its sponsorship of NASCAR"

And an Air Force E7 as VP.

Hi acin,

Re: I still believe that a Retired Navy Chief should be our President at least for one term just to reduce the salary of the congress and put them back on the Social Security System.

The President does not have that authority. Congress sets their own salaries. You might not like it but that is how it is.

PS) Congress also determines your COLAS.

The current president seems to think he has the authority to do as he wishes.

well. . .

Those sponsorships aren't cheap and we all want the government to cut down on spending. Ending the sponsorships is one way to do it. I'm sure that there is a company or two who will step in and fill the void. It'll just be a different plastic decal stretched onto the race car.

Like corporations, the military has line items for advertising/recruiting. Sponsoring (if you want to call it that) is part of it. It's considered a recruiting tool just like air shows, dock tours of ships and community days on Army and Marine bases. We know that during the sequestration air shows and community days were stopped, civilian workers laid off or worked w/o pay. I see no problem with using this money as a recruiting tool. What I do have a problem with is the cuts in equipment funding, family (people) programs, MWR (morale, welfare, recreation), medical services, pay and on and on. Were :bdh:. The presidents directs congress to find and enact these cuts, so in effect, he has control.

They are trying their best to get rid of the US Military. Too many honest people in there. No more good people to enlist. They want more like congress and the president, nothing more to be said.
