I'm not surprised. IMHO (being retired Navy and a Vietnam Vet, and someone who is heavily involved in professional auto racing) the National Guard should never have been a race sponsor to begin with. I know at one time both the Army and Navy sponsored race cars (not sure about the Air Force) but I believe they dropped out of it some years ago.
To me, there are some things the military shouldn't be involved in...and sponsoring racing is one of them.
Now, if they want to set up booths at races, that's just fine.
