BRP B.E.S.T. WARRANTY VS. ZURICH WARRANTY !

I have only had my 2011 RTS/SE5 for a month and a half now. Everything is okay, but I am interested in BRP's extended warranty for 1,2,or 3 years. How many of you out there have purchased this warranty and how much were you charged ?

I just spoke to the dealer (East Coast Cycle Center, Bensalem, Pa.)where I bought my Spyder 6/20/2011. Here are the extended warranty prices from BRP & Zurich.
B.E.S.T.$1098 for 36 months with $50 deductible.
Zurich Warranty $1134 or $1184 for 84 months. The $1134 has a $50 deductible. The $1184 has NO deductible. It also includes roadside assistance, motel ( if on a trip ) plus some other goodies. He also said the Zurich (Major Insurance Co.) warranty is good at any dealer anywhere. It doesn't have to be a BRP dealer.
I am going to sign up for the Zurich warranty tomorrow. He also said that both warranties pay the approved repair rate to the dealers.

I have been thinking about the extended warranty by Zurich, but I don't know if it is worth almost $1200. I am sure the 7 year warranty also includes the 2 years from BRP, so it is acutally a 5 year extension.

We got the B.E.S.T. warranty for around $1100 I believe, don't quote me on that, for the additional 3 years. We didn't get the B.E.S.T. PLUS due to the cost at the time $1200. We did get a service contract through the dealer that was around $500 cheaper and I wasn't worried about them going out of business because their dealership is attached to a fab/auto dealership. If you can turn a wrench I would say skip the BEST Plus, unless you can rach 12K/year to take advantage of it. I got the BEST warranty just due to all of the electrical gadgets on this bike. I can turn a wrench but I can surely screw some wiring up, just ask the wife. It was more of a peace of mind for me, more than anything.

I bought the 3 year extended B.E.S.T. warranty from my dealer at the time I purchased my RT Spyder for $800. However, you can purchase it from Bert's Mega Mall for $750. They are a site sponser. Click the Homepage tab and click the link for Bert's. Don't wait too long. The price goes up after 60 days from your Spyder purchase date.

Purchased mine BERT's Mega Mall (Bryce contact gal) for $750 - I got the BEST not the plus....remember you have to do it within a certain number of days from when you purchased your :spyder2: or there is a $$ penalty.

Are the extended warranties worth the money ?

I am just wondering if the 7 year warranties are worth the almost $1,200 ? The first question I have is that I have never had any cycle that long. I know these aren't cheap to repair , but is the extended warranty worth the money ? Anyone have experience on this. Considering the RTS/SE5 has only been out for 2 years, we don't know very much about what problems might develop during the next 5 years. I do buy the extended warranty on ALL the used cars I buy. All you need is one major repair and you have got your money's worth. I have also read that most repairs happen during the original manufacturers warranty time. If it goes good for 2 years, what are the odds something major will brake down after that?

There is no BEST seven year warranty. The options are an additional 1, 2 , or 3 years, for a total of five years of warranty, maximum. I am not sure about aftermarket options.

It is 6 years+/- since you wrote this, and I just purchased my 3 year BEST warranty from Bert's for $750, and I've had my Spyder for 2 years.

I did the same thing you are doing and this is what I found. I have a 2014 RTS with warranty until July 2017. I called at least 8 different BRP dealers for BRP warranty. Got pricing from $1100 to over $1800 for two more years. I called Pitbull and they have an insurance company called Century. Talked with Buck and this is what he quoted me. $884 for 60 months of extended warranty, because my Spyder is still under factory warranty. They have other insurance, for Spyders out of warranty. Give them a call and see what Buck can do for you. Oh, my warranty is $50 deductible but completely covered. Hope this helps. Goo luck.
