• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP variable wind deflectors...something wrong

Ok, here's an odd one . I've read numerous threads on here about folks installing a set of the BRP variable wind deflectors. Mine are the non-chrome version. In terms of liking the results...it's a mixed bag, as you'd expect, but that's not my issue. However, I never saw one comment about anyone having any trouble mounting them. Here's my situation. I took the old ones off, installed the new ones (great deal from Pitbull...thanks guys) using the new provided and longer screws. But the screws appear to be too long and don't tighten down the deflectors. I'd say they are stopping with at least another 1/4" needed before the base of the deflector would be firmly settled in and tight in the body recess where it fits. I can't figure it out. The screws seem totally bottomed out and waaayyy tight...so not pushing them. Yet the deflectors are loose and flopping around. Any one else experienced this? Seems like either shorter new screws of maybe some rubber grommet offsets if it's it's something I've got to engineer a solution to fix. Any thoughts or experience is most welcome. Love this place...love this ride. See you at Bikeweek in March !!!

The adjustable deflectors came with bolts the same length as my original fixed deflectors.

Try using the original bolts from the fixed wind deflectors

Jon,

Just so you know you're not crazy...:sour: I had the very same experience as you. There must have been a batch of these things shipped with longer screws. I used three washers on each screw and they tightened right up. You cannot see the washers, since the holes are recessed.

Happens..!!

Wrong parts get mixed up in the packing. Sometimes I think there are gremlins out there doing this for the laughs...:roflblack: do what our gremlins say...space it out if you use the longer ones or use the original ones...
