• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP Ultra Touring VS Chad Wind deflector

Any real comparisons would be preferred from someone who has used both.

Yeah, I'd be curious if you get any "real comparisons" as the reason folks purchase these is if they have been disappointed with BRP ultrasport, sport, touring, and F1 (or a "tweaked" version of any of these) and they end up getting the CHAD or ultra touring as their last shield.

I haven't heard of anyone getting either and then getting something else.

Perhaps someone has ridden two differently-equipped Spyders, which I guess is what you mean...

I think you're the first one to get the BRP windshield..meaning, you'd have to get the CHAD to do the comparison...nobody else can do it as of yet!

We await your word...

Frankly, what difference does it make? As we have the CHAD, I see no point in seeking an alternative as it worked as-promised and was available. BRP, for the most part, has been vaporware and missed promises on the windshield. Apparently, if one's choice was to wait on the BRP UTW, then it would rub salt in one's cuts for anyone to offer a position that it was not the best choice.

I truly hope the windshield works for you!!!

BRP ultra tour 23 inch installed

I just installed the SO's 23 inch wind shield. We both took it for a spin and we both get the buffeting on the forehead. Prior to this installed we got a lot of wind stinging on the arms and chest area. Nice breeze on the face now with moderate buffeting on the forehead.

She said let's get a 25 inch but I think we'll also look at the Chad. Don't mis-understand this 23 inch is a great improvement. Its I'm 5'10" and she is 5'7" and we still get it on the forehead. If we had gotten the 25 inch we would't be considering looking at the Chad.

I know there will be more on this topic.

My dealer is getting a new demo spyder setup and prepped with the touring package. It will have the ultra touring shield with wind defelectors and the new comfort seat. I'm not sure if they will include the Canam givi cases though. When this unit is ready I will be taking it for a test drive to see how I like this setup. Myself, I'm not sure about a new shield just yet. I kind of like the wind hitting me in the face, but it's the bugs that I take that gets annoying. I'm leaning towards the Chad if I do get a new shield. I like the fact that it can be adjusted. I sure wish that the Spyder had some sort of electric lift shield like I had on my Honda ST1300. That was a real neat feature on that bike.
