There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. BRP sponsored spyder event

Anyone heard anything about the date or place of the BRP sponsored spyder event (the last being in Durango, Colo)? Any info on dates or places? I can only go to one of these, so need to plan for either this or the Ozark spyder fest. Thanks

If you can only choose one

Teddys says its not even close:lecturef_smilie: choose the Ozark SpyderFest :firstplace: hands down, you'll have a much better time:yes:

But I still need to know about the other, since I have to schedule for this time off and any time I am gone, the office gets no income! Thanks for any info- I need to compare dates and places and plan carefully. Probably alot of other spyder owners are in the same situation

I would say Spyderfeast, way ahead if only one. Owners event was interesting, but no vendors in the past. No planned ahead rides. Good food and information. Time to talk to other Spyder riders.
Spyderfeast has had planned rides, good vendors, good food, time to talk with other riders, light shows, fireworks, excellent information and more.
I understand performance testing is out, but drag racing is in. View neat mods on other bikes. Cool shirts. This will be my third, bigger and better every year.
Did I mention, I like Spyderfeast ?

ADDED. As posted later, BRP did in 2012. I did not go to Durango. I should have noted that.

I was at the BRP event in 2010 which was somewhat of a dud but they have been better since. I would have liked to go this year but can't wait to make my plans so I'm returning to Spyderfest for the third time.:yes::yes:. The MoGang do a great job at putting this event on. :2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

I would put my money on SpyderFest 2013. The BRP group mimics our model from what I understand. Hope to see you there! I would love to make both event's, but like you, I can only make one. Since I'm one of the organizers of SF I have to give that one the highest priority. I am fortunate enough to be the pyro guy for MoGang and we do put on one heck of a show. This year's show should really rock! Hope you can make it.

The BRP event did have a number of planned rides, as well as group rides in 2012. They are learning.

any Spyder gathering is good....it's all what you...make it....I've done Spyderfest...Owners Event...Spyders in the Redwoods...Lamont's BBQ....I have a BBQ Memorial Day weekend....Texas......now I need Spyders in the Adirondacks....and the Canadian ralleys...not enough time and/or $$$$

:agree: As a relatively new rider (2 seasons), I've been to the BRP event in Maggie Valley, Lamonts BBQ, Spyderfest twice and SITA. Each is unique in its' own right and offers different things. We look forward to Spyderfest because of all the great folks that we know will be there. For some it's the ride there and the event is secondary. The one thing I can say is since it's a Spyder event the people that go tend to be very friendly and welcoming. I have always had a great time at all of these events, it's the people.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the BRP 2010 event held in Cheeecargo? I had a fantastic time at the 2011 get together which I believe was in Maggie Valley.

You are right! Picture all the Spyders corralled in a small gravel parking lot. Shuttle buses going around the lot to take you to another area to see and test ride BRP products. No rides other than the short demos. Nice lunch, Mexican, not BBQ. The registration table was setup so that people were standing in the single lane drive that the :f_spider:'s and the buses were using to get to the parking lot. Surprised no body got run over :gaah:. The main starting point was in downtown Chicago :lecturef_smilie: not a good place for riding at all.

I have not been back to one but I think they have made improvements.

Sometimes you need to know what you did wrong to know what to do right.:opps:
The next year was Maggie Valley and it was night and day different.
Your observation was spot on by the way. :doorag:

Thanks to all and comparisons between events from those who have attended are especially welcome and will help me decide which to spend my time & money on! I can always count on the forum for good advice! :)

Observation from across the fence..."Harley Rider24/7"

We've only made Cuba & Durango,, Both were just what I was looking for, due to the fact I was along ways from all my troubles at home...As if there were any.. The names of the venues tell you right off what they are about.. Cuba "SPYDERFEST"was about vendors,Rydin, and Parties..Durango "Owners Event"was about owner's and socializing with the manufacturer.A chance for the Manufacturer to give back a little to the comsumer. Ever been to a Ford,GM, or Mopar BBQ..

It's all about the ride and the fun you have getting there, and the enjoyment you create for yourself while your there. Hope to see ya there, if not maybe somewhere

Ride Safe..Ride Aware:doorag:

I rode 1475 miles each way to Spyders in the Adirondacks this past year and it was well worth the trip. I wouldn't miss Spyderfest but each event has its own strength and mostly each event has some of us!!

The BRP rep at the DC IMS said it might be announced in February. But he did say it would most likely be at the same time of year that it always is, whatever that means. :)
