• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone put these on? New product. I think I want to try them for the adjustable pre-load.
Edited to add I was satisfied with my once I increased the pre-load on the front shocks. It became much more stable in turns.

What year is your RT? Did you in fact put the Fox shocks on, and if so did you get them from your dealer and what did they cost. Who installed them?

Old guy

2014 RT Ltd
No, I have not installed them yet - but probably will
Suggested price $499, ergo a good bit less than Elka

Don't waste your money on the Fox shocks and get the Elkas which can be had for $600-650. Much better quality and proven to improve the spyder handling!

General Response to the responders

New for the RT Part 219400588 BRP announcement 4-8-2014
And if you have not used this then your response about Elkas being better is uninformed at best. You may or may not be correct, but you are still uninformed. I do not know and that is why I am asking.

These shocks seem to be very tunable. Granted there are many around who already know how to tune Elkas. To the poster who says I can buy Elkas for $600, I will echo another poster, "Where?".

I take it no one has tried them because of no response. It may be a shame if no one has bought them because this board knows Elkas are the best.

I will state again that tightening the spring pre-load just one notch on my stock 2012 RT did all I wanted. Sorry if this sounds combative, but I did ask a very simple, perhaps simple minded, question at the out-set. I have to wonder if some ever try a new road.

These Fox shocks are not the typical high end Fox shocks instead they were built to be cheap for BRP to sell. It was also asked for Elka to build some cheap ones for BRP but they refused as they only stick with quality components and don't want to put their name on a lesser quality. Yes I did have them on a previous spyder and know they sucked. I am on my second set of Elka's and couldn't be happier.

There has been several dealers selling them for $600-650. I would call Len at Pitbull to inquire on his best price or check with your local spyder dealer.

Pitbull quoted me $699 for the Elka front shocks. :yikes: Retail is $750. :f_spider: Tom :trike:

I have the Fox Shox on my 2013 Rt. They work way better than the stock shocks. The last time we were in the mountains the stock shocks gave up in about 10 minutes tops. These held up all day. Are they as good as Elkas? I can't say. They certainly don't look as trick, nobody is gonna notice you have the Fox Shox on. Brp will let you try them for free at Spyderfest.

not that it matters

but this shock, the pic I saw, does look different. Maybe they are no better but they cost more and look different. LOL Also, thanks for the positive report even though a different product.
