• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I got my Spyder and BEST coverage on June 2 and have been waiting for paperwork from BRP. How long have others waited for official papers from BRP?

If it is the BEST coverage paperwork, there really isn't any. We got our spyders and warranties back in March and just got our BESTPlus cards in the mail a few weeks ago. So it seems to be a long process. Of course, you are in the BRP computer system, so if you were to have a problem and you don't have your card, any BRP dealership should be able to show you have the coverage.

got our spyder may 30th. recieved b.e.s.t. card about 2 weeks ago. i think were supposed to recieve a spyderryder membership card in the mail from BRP, but haven't yet.

Took delivery March 28...Got the BEST card end of June. I did verify that we were listed in the BRP system before that. I also pressured the dealer to provide us with the BEST Road Assistance phone number. That is the only real necessity or reason for the card. Get the number, tuck it in your wallet, and wait ever so patiently for BRP to come through. Not their strong suit, in any area so far, is it. Long on promise, slow on delivery! Darned good thing this is such a compelling toy.

Dealer response was that BRP policy prohibits them from providing the roadside service number until BRP processes the BEST papers, registers the owner and sends the card to the owner. It's not like I'm trying to scam roadside service. They cashed my $1,000 check and sent papers to BRP so they know who I am and that I paid. Dealer said to wait until two months had passed and then check back as BRP is a bit slow. In the meantime, they said if I had a problem, call the dealer's 800 number and they would give me the BRP roadside number. I'd like to hear from someone who has used BRP roadside service to see how well it worked. How long did it take for service to arrive, what kind of equipment they dispatched and how far it was to the nearest dealer since there is a $200 limit for the service.

Wouldn't you know it; post a question on BRP papers for BEST coverage yesterday and card arrives in today's mail. Apparently BRP requires units to be registered in the month they are sold and when sold early in the month, the dealer holds the papers for a few days to extend the warranty coverage. Coverage begins when BRP receives and processes it. As a result, my BEST coverage shows June 23, 2013 and not June 2 when I took delivery. Three extra weeks of warranty. That, a t-shirt, a $50 referral gift certificate and a reasonable $200 600 mile service gets my dealer a BEST award.

That sounds exactly like what happened to me. I was going to go by the dealer and see about getting the 800 number when the paperwork arrived in the mail. Not a fast process. I think it was about 8 wks.

I picked up my bike April 5 and am still waiting. My dealer just keeps saying it takes time. He did direct me to the BEST paperwork that has an 800 number printed on it. I mostly bought it for the warranty as I have AAA anyway so I have not cared too much about it.

While I did get the BEST papers, I still don't have the basic owner's paperwork with the nine digit owner's number that would let me register on spyderrider as an "owner". I can only register as an "enthusiast" and that annoys me.

You must have the AAA plus RV to have motorcycles covered as standard AAA does not include them. AAA RV also gets you 100 mile range for dealer which with Spyder, may not be enough. I will use my AAA RV as a back up as I hope that the BRP road service will have a better chance of sending the right equipment (not just a AAA tow truck) and getting me to a Syder dealer even with the $200 limit. I am still hoping for someone to post an experience with the BRP road service so that we have some idea what to expect.

You can just enter it as used and enter the vin number. Worked like a champ for me. Still waiting on my paperwork as well. Late May.

I need some clarity, was B.E.S.T. coverage any additional fee or does it come with Spyder ownership? If it comes with Spyder ownership, is there paperwork I have to fill out to get it or do they just automatically process me?

BEST coverage is extra and can be bought to extend your two year warranty by 1,2 or 3 years. Around $800 -$1,000 for 3 year extension depending on dealer. If you plan to keep the Spyder, it is not a bad investment as replacement parts for this bike are expensive. Side benefit is roadside service for the entire period of coverage. This is a first year product and there will be problems. If you plan to unload or trade during the basic 24 month warranty period, then no need to buy extra coverage.
