There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. These pictures are for dadof4 since I couldn't send pictures in a PM. Also, for anyone else interested in integrating a GPS into the RT sound system with auto muting.. Here's the BRP harness... Len

Thanks

Thanks for your help. It's greatly appreciated. I'm going to have my dealer order the harness. Where will I find the the plug on the spyder that it plugs into? I gave a quick look and could not find it.

Thanks again,
Rick

Check out Apache Motorcycles...

I have purchased a few parts from Apache Motorcycles and they are always less than dealer prices.

The plug is on the left side under the hand grip. You have to pull all the panels on the left side off to get to it. Pretty easy once you have done it a few times.:roflblack:

Where does it plug in?

Rather than trying get to descriptive on this forum. Ask your dealer if he has the instructions for the Garmin GPS install. It comes with the GPS. It has pictures and clearly defines where the GPS, existing Spyder connections and the adaptor harness all hook up. It's kind of like a picture is worth a 1000 words. If he has ever installed a BRP GPS, he will have the instuctions.. Len

if I buy the adapter plug shown in the pic and do NOT wire the two small power wires just plug into the harness and then run an audio extension cable to a lower end Garmin audio out jack will it work via the CB/Comm System? \

I am assuming the red and black wires on the back of the plug are to get power to the Garmin only. so I don't need to connect the red and black wires if i power my Garmin direct from the battery fused connection....

I assume this part posted by someone else on another thread:
P8 GPS Adaptor Harness 710 002 182 ($65.00)

is just the Purple Plug with the audio male jack pigtail shown below is all I need:

I'd like to know that also, as the GPS harness is on back order.

HUH ???

I just had the GPS harness installed today.

My dealer ordered it last Friday August 20, and had it delivered by Tuesday August 24. He installed it this morning.

Try calling Bob Gargano 1 (203) 467-5903.

Great system, by the way. I just had the CB intercom and the GPS interface installed. I should have done this from the beginning.

reasking again so it doesnt get lost in the post :helpsmilie:

Yes, that's the only part you need to connect the GPS to the OEM system, with two caveats.

1) This assumes that you already have the BRP audio package. I don't believe you can just plug a GPS into this harness unless you have the other OEM electronics to back it up.

2) you have the proper length of audio cables and gender benders as necessary to connect the audio output of your GPS to the plug shown in your picture.

The black and red wires are power to the GPS. If you power your GPS froman alternate source, as I did, you need to blind the connections so they don't short out.

I ordered mine ($54.00) from Apache Motorcycles in Phoenix. They found it today. It was in one of their other stores. They are shipping it today. This kind of thing happens to me every time I try to save a buck, but I refuse to stop trying!
