BRP deal until July 10th.....

Let's see...I bought mine in May---that was before July 10th so I'm good to go...yeah right!! I discussed the fact with BRP that I couldn't get a Can Am sponsored test ride as they had none within 500 miles of me for months on end and it wasn't fair that I lost out on a $500 accessory voucher. (no, they wouldn't give me one) The best I can say is that they were sympathetic and professional but not really thinking about any love loss with current owners or recent buyers when they do these promotions.

This is typical of most manufactures of most products, their after new sales, so the marketing department comes up with all sorts of attractions that are not retrospective.

I did get the $500 accessory voucher and purchased the extended warranty myself, but both are a good deal if your buying anyway.
I don't think either would be a deciding factor but if you have already decide then its icing on the cake as they say.

Flybuddy, I didn't forget you, I tried at both Americade and Laconia to get an extra voucher with no luck. You had to be there in person, they tied you driver license to the voucher and stored in their system.

I did explain that there was no demo in your area but they could not circumvent the system, they did try as I was not the only one asking.

I learned this deal began on June 27, ten days after I purchased. It would have been nice if the dealership would have told me this was going to be available so soon. I would have waited.

in fairness they properly didn't know, I was talking to the can-am road event guys and they said the're one of the last to know. All done by marketing department.

Btw marketing does work, if I had not got the leaflet in the mail about the test ride event that sparked my interest I properly would not have my spyder right now.

Things go on sale all the time.. products have different promotions, etc.....

Sometimes you catch the wave... sometimes you don't... it's just the nature of things.

As far as waiting for a Can Am sponsored test ride---- any dealer worth a dime would have let you take a floor model out for a test ride..... Cowtown does!

:agree: When I was first looking into a Spyder I went to a dealer that has rentals. I asked the salesman if I can rent the Spyder for a week. If I buy the spyder would they drop the rental fee, but if I don't I will pay the rental fee. The salesman (rudely) says why don't you rent it for the day? I replied that it takes more than one day to get used to the feel. He said they could not do that, and this was without even asking his manager. Later I found out the rental company was not part of the dealership, but just rented a space from them. Needless to say when I bought I did not buy from them. The dealership I did buy let me ride one, and from what I understand now has a demo on hand.

A few months ago they had the 1.9% for I think 2 or 3 years BUT the $199 a month at 7.9 (Sheffield Financial) is NO bargain.nojoke

Is the extended warranty offer limited to buyers who finance through Can Am?

It does not appear you have to finance to get the 4 year deal:

Firefly, you're right in that most if not all dealers do offer a test ride, but to get the $500 voucher the test ride had to be one through BRP's offical test ride event.

There where none in MA, that's how I ended up finding the Stamford CT dealer I purchased from.

To be honest it peeked my interest when I got the mailer, I booked the event test ride but then couldn't wait until the official date. I ended up going to the dealer a few weeks earlier, talked about trade and options etc. Because I had ridding 3 hours from MA they let me take their demo spyder out for a long test ride. I did the deal and even picked up my spyder a couple of weeks before the official event. But because I had booked the event prior, they had my license on file from the dealer test ride I still got the $500 voucher. It was clear to BRP that my purchase was directly related to the mailer.

The $500 didn't sway me either way but it sure sweetened the deal, I was hooked after the test ride and the sheer look of the RT Limited.

I bought in may, what is this about the $500 voucher?

sorry to sound blunt its not meant to sound that way, but if you didn't get it then you properly won't. I have tried extremely hard for flybuddy.

Basically the can-am demo test event is running around the USA, they where at Aemricade, Laconia and a few dealers. If you register and attend the event in person you got a $500 voucher towards can-am apparel or accessories with the purchase of a new spyder.

You have to attend in person, take the test ride and the voucher is stored electronically against your drivers license.

There will be of course lots of attendees at these event that don't purchase a spyder, so to stop these vouchers being sold on ebay or given away they are tightly monitored.
It also allows them to track feed back on the event itself, how many successful new sales directly linked to the event.

I stopped short of gun point robbery, but I tried every other trick in the book to try and get some extra so I could give them away on here.

flybuddy wanted one and so did a few others. They did try to circumvent the system but they couldn't.

I was lucky and it worked out for me.

DAMN--I bought my new RT on June 10--guess that means I missed out on the 4 year deal huh? I wonder if I talked with someone from BRP they'd extend the deal to me?

Just wanted to thank Harry again for trying. I did email/call BRP and discuss this with them. They were nice about it BUT they felt if they made an exception for me they'd have to give it to everybody. I understand that as it makes sense, but they need another option for potential buyers without access.
What this does to me and probably others is that, in the future, many of us who may buy another Spyder will wait for sweet deals, that may never come before purchasing. Also, if there is any viable competition at that point we may go elsewhere to avoid regretting our purchasing decisions.

I really didn't expect that posting a new Spyder promotion would bring about such sour grapes. Perhaps BRP should never offer deals or incentives and everyone would be happy.

My neighbor just got a free coffee at McDonald's using a coupon that I didn't know about..... So I'm never going to go to McDonald's again as I feel slighted and scammed. ;-)

If you think that BRP is tough; try calling DirecTV and talk them into giving you some of the great deals that they're giving to new customers... :gaah:
They have to keep sweetening the pot to draw in fresh meat.
So when are we going to start picketing around McDonald's for that free coffee?? :roflblack:

Well I've got room for mine and yours both! :roflblack:
The more "Brown Ambition" that I can fuel the fires with in the morning; the better!

The only way you could make everybody happy would be to serve a special type of brownie with their free McDonalds coffee. And then it would only last for a couple of hours.
