• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP Connect crashes

Got to try the two new apps Rever and FOBO. FOBO works but looks squished and even though you can see the data, it's not prefect.

Rever, on the other hand, when I open it BRP Connect crashes and as I have the phone on top of the dash so I can work it if necessary and I see the home screen so I can touch BRP Connect and it pops back into the bike's view. Everything else works fine after. Still have to mute the Maps so I can listen to music. I also had a second time where the bike forgot my bluetooth headset and I had to re-pair all over again. Weird.

I send messages to BRP once a week and will try posting reviews n the App Store.

I'm not testing, I'm trying to use my new 2018 with the smartphone dash the way it's supposed to, and it's not. Just letting other new owners know the problems and hope more complain so BRP gets it right. Wish I was getting paid!

No, you really ARE testing, even if you don't like to admit it!!

If a product doesn't work right first time & every time then the product has been released with insufficient testing & in this case, BRP are relying on the good-will of all you unpaid testers to iron all the bugs out for the second generation buyers!! :banghead: So you really should ask for recompense for all your efforts - the only other mobs I know of that get away with pulling this particular scam are Apple & Microsoft.... :sour:

Then, I guess, we’re all testers as we talk about the problems we’re having with our Spyders. I’m just doing the same thing with the software as I would with any aspect of the bike.

You are right....mostly.

But your cell phone should NOT be considered an "aspect of the bike".

I sure am glad I got my '17 before all of this idiocy started.

All of the basic and necessary features should be self-contained.
