• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP Cares, please comment on the new line up.

It'll drop your rpm levels by probably 300 or 400 rpm, and that might save you a bit of fuel... :dontknow:

The fuel savings are probably not going to outweigh the cost of the sprocket as well the new belt.

AS for extra range due to fuel savings? Probably in the single digits.

Someone sooner or later will do it and we'll have the hard numbers.

:agree: The differences made by a change might be minor...

...But folks in here like to tinker too much, to ignore this possibility! :D

Found the setting in BUDS. Its under Settings, Vehicle Configuration, Bit 1. Have not looked to see if this setting is available when connected to a 2016 or earlier RT. I will look the next time I have one in for service. So at least for an F3, it does appear to be a valid option if someone wanted it. I do not but would be willing to undertake the install if someone wanted it.

I would be interested if the option was there for a 998 engine model. My demo version of BUDS with a 2013 ST loaded up does not have that option. It will be a lot older version of BUDS then you would have.

I will check the next time I have one here for service.

UPDATE:

The option does not exist on a 2010 RT, on a 2013 RS-S or on a 2008 RS. Checked all of these today when they were in the shop for other things.

F3 Gearing

I am the one that originally posted this question. I have all the parts for the gearing change. After making the change my F3 would not shift correctly and my dealer said it was do to the new pulley. They took it back off and the F3 shifted fine. I paid for the parts and the installation and here I sit with the parts and a $450.00 installation bill. I need help from BRP. How can my dealer contact BRP and get this information? My dealer is Fox Motorsports formally Shutout Hills in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I have contacted the dealer several times after I saw this posting, but to no avail.

Hi Mactim,
Please send us your VIN and some details about what happened with your dealer to [email protected] so that we can help sort this out for you.
Thanks,
Steve

Before the snow left I was a snowmobiler. Switched to a sport atv and now I ride 2013 RS S. The fact that it looks like a snowmobile and rides like a quad makes me very happy, I call it my summer snowmobile. I'm 46 a little young for the Spyder crowd. So yes I'm disappointed that the RS S is discontinued but I'm part of a minority, low sales equal discontinued models, sucks to be me.

I own a 2013 ST-S SE5! I love this machine, especially after I had a BajaRon sway bay and billet links installed! I test rode a F3S on a Demo Day, I did not like the foot positioning, way too far forward for my liking, yes it was actually in the correct position for my height. I butt tested the ST-S and I was home!!! It is very easy for me to stand if needed, this is not possible on a F3, foot placement is too far forward that it is impossible to have leverage enough to stand up. I have 2 total hip replacements and both knees need replacement, riding my Spyder is one activity I can do with no pain!!!! I am not in the market for a new Spyder, but if I was it would be for another ST model! So yes, I am very disappointed that the RS & ST models were discontinued, there are no equivalent models in the current model line! So I will maintain my current model as it will have to last for a long time!!:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

. So,and I hope I am wrong, we may be seeing the Spyder line of the future today. However, I do believe there will be an entry level Spyder introduced, perhaps in June 2107! Interesting times!

There you go! plenty of time to start saving!
