There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hi all,

Bought "Red Dragon" '09 RS se5, used (1,311 miles). Warranty until 2012. Can I still purchase extended coverage, or Best, or is there another alternative? Is separate AAA needed? What's best, cost vs practical use:dontknow:?

Thanks,

Street

You can purchase either of the BRP extended coverages BEFORE the original warranty coverage expires.

You can expect to pay $800-$1000 for the three-year BEST coverage if you shop around. IMHO, it is well worth it as repairs on these computers-on-wheels can be expensive.

There is at least one dealer who is a site sponsor here who will sell you the coverage at a discount.

.

You might try Louis Powersports in Greenville, TX. I bought my 3 yr Best from them at a very favorable price. It helped that I purchased before either 60 or 90 days elapsed from purchase of Spyder.

Florida doesn't sell new BRP Best since March 2010. :cus:

So can I buy it in say Alabama and it be honored in Florida? If not, what are my Florida options? Anyone know who and where the closest Alabama dealer is to Pensacola, Florida?

I don't know why you can't buy it anywhere and use it anywhere unless it is not honored in FL????? All Can Am dealers must honor, regardless of where purchased. You can buy it over the phone!

You can buy in any other state and use it in Fl.
IMHO do not use Pinnacle or any other aftermarket warranties...check with your dealer for answers "why". :lecturef_smilie:

Thanks to all for the feedback. I'll give them a call and see what's up.

Thanks for the "Florida" info docdoru. Are we still considered a part of the Union.

Even when they did sell the 'BRP BEST' warranty in Florida it legally had to be underwritten by another insurance company -- some goofy Florida law.

As Doc stated-- do NOT go with a 3rd party warranty-- plenty of people have been scammed when that company went under or wouldn't cover things.

Stick with the BRP BEST warranty.

I was told by a representive of a dealer, that to purchase a Best warranty elsewhere, where you resided and spyder is registered in Fl, that you cannot buy it out of state...
However, I have to believe that Best has sold to Fl Spyders via Phone, Mail etc
What I would like to know, is if it is not available to be sold in Fl, then why does BRP web site states that it is available, and list dealers. However, I have contacted those dealers ( FL) and they don't sell it.

Yes I am wanting to purchase the Best Plus for the RT.

Don't buy Western Services extended warranty!!!!!!!!!!
Paid $1700 and they didn't cover my sprocket and drive shaft. However I was told by BRP that it would have been covered under their warranty.

I don't recall being asked where I live, or where my Spyder is registered when purchasing BEST Warranty. I suppose if you had a non-FL address it would eliminate any problem.:dontknow:

Anyone know about getting the Best from other states when one resides and registered in Florida???

The BRP web site has two brochures for the B.E.S.T. warranty. One is specifically for Florida. The Florida version looks to be covered by General Fidelity Insurance Company. Could the B.E.S.T. warranty changed now for Florida so it can be sold by the Florida dealerships?

I live in WA and purchased mine from a dealer in CA..3 years for less than $800. I used it once in WA. Same price for the RS or the RT.

I m guessing that if you purchase it from some other state, FL dealers will have to honor it. It's virtually the same as the original warranty except for the $50 fee.

I think FL has some goofy law that does not allow dealers to sell the BEST warranty.

I would not assume anything. It is just as likely that they might not. In fact, I'm not even positive that all other Spyder dealer need to honor it...although they may. Until we get book and verse on this from a person in authority, we should not speculate.

If I were to buy Extended BEST from MY dealer would they receive or profit more from it than if I buy it somewhere else and Bring it to them?

I think you would get serviced QUICKER if you bought it from your own dealer?:dontknow:
