• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP and my dealer (G&G Cycles) at local MC show

I spoke with a BRP rep and my dealer at a local MC show.
He comfirmed that touring model and other stuff are in the pipeline. But it takes such a long time to get the motion on these things that they sometimes get nixed.

Brp also has the stance they will never come out with a hand brake.
Also they will never come out with highway pegs.

The BRP also confirmed other marketing stuff i had questions of.

Small show, but my dealer and the BRP rep had 4 Spyders; one in each color and the red was the SM5. They also wanted to talk to me extensively about my HeliBars. Hmm...

I posted this back on May 12th. I still beleive G&G cycles is A+ professional and would highly recommend them to anyone!

"Short story long...
My dealer offered to let me borrow their utility trailer to bring the Spyder home. I'm a new rider and the way home is mostly highway. I drove up on Saturday with my Toyota 4Runner. After we went to check out the bike and finish the paper work, we noticed my truck had puked a lot of coolant fluid. The two small 1/4" lines going from the radiator to the tranny had rotted. crap! :edit:
Then Gary (I'm pretty sure he is one of the "G's" in G & G Cycles/ part owner i guess) offered to drive me home WITH my new spyder on his utility trailer. Shop closes at 3pm anyway and it was 12:30pm. I was and am so gracious. THIS IS WHAT I CALL A1+ SERVICE!

As for my truck, luckily across the street is tranny repair shop run by Glenn. I drove it over for his to look at it tomorrow.
At 3pm, Gary drove me home 36miles out of his way and delivered my new spyder into my garage. (Not yet registered and no plates).

This has been the most curtious and professional vehicle purchase I have experienced. I will highly recommend G & G Cycles of Salisbury Mass to anyone in New England. "

since you spoke with the rep and he confirmed other stuff and tourning model in pipline what did he say other than they might get nixed...what was making the new one a tourning model? what other stuff did he confirm?:dontknow: i talke to two different reps and they would only say they have no idea what is coming next or when....

The rep said they go through a rigerous training course and also part of that is a section on what they are allowed to say and what they are NOT allowed to say.
My example of what they cannot say is that the SPyder is darn hard to tip over (unless you hit something). Now obviously for liability THEY cant say that, but I can.

He also said that back in 2006 they almost nixed they entire Spyder bike due to front end stability control. He said Bosch saved them on that... must be some patent license deal they worked out (my guess).

He also confirmed that the Spyder has been in development since 1995 !! The CEO said to the design team "Design a bike that has less then four wheels and more than two!... Just go design it!"
Thus the Spyder.

He also mentioned that at homecoming they have large wall that shows all the design phases of the SPyder prototypes from 2000 to 2008.

A touring model (didn't say what made it touring) would not come out until after September but would probably be late as most things are. I think he meant sept 2009, but he could have meant 2010.
