• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Broken spring - F3L

I broke a spring :banghead::banghead::banghead: on the bottom of my spyder this morning and am not sure what it came from. My bike drags a little when I put it in my storage shed and when I pull in i usually get off the seat and put my feel on the ramp prior to pulling all the way in. I was going to back it in yesterday which normally I don't do and it drug a lot before I caught it and I turned it around and pulled in like I normally do. This morning when I backed out I noticed a broken spring ... which I am sure is from the constant rub on the bottom and probably aggravated more by trying to back in yesterday.

I have mentioned the issue of the ramp not being right but it never got fixed. Einstein is now going to fix the ramp after I have griped about it for most of the afternoon but I still have to figure out the spring problem. The bike goes forward and backwards OK but I didn't drive it anywhere today because I am not sure what impact that missing spring might have.

Can someone post a picture of this spring installed or tell me what it connects to?

I have a F3 but that sure looks like a exhaust spring.
Looking underneath those are the only springs I see on mine.

Good luck.

Agree...

:agree: that is one of the exhaust springs. Never seen one break in half like that..:banghead: best see where it came from and if in fact it had something to do with the problem you mention....

The exhaust springs are lower than the exhaust, so you have to be careful when you put your lift under that you don't catch them, so I would imagine that taking them over the ramp wouldn't do them any good. I'm not home at the moment but I'll post a pic asap.

You've probably got a bit of a ding in the flared section of pipe where the spring was pushed onto it hard enough to break, & may also have broken the gasket which that flare covers!! I believe there are 'better' (? cheaper?) gaskets & springs in the correct size available if you specify they are for a Honda - worth a shot, anyway!
