• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Break in period.

I just got my 13" rss last week. I have 130 miles on it and I am loving it. What is the break in period? I plan on going on a ride at the end of March that will be 160miles total and should be well under my 600 mile virgin checkup. It's mostly highway if that matters. And is the cost of the first checkup under can am warranty? Or out of pocket expense

check up

you pay for maintenance -- that includes check ups -- any hard part failure should be under their warranty other than maintenance items (I.E. -- brakes, spark plugs . oil filters , oil , air filters -- if SM5 then clutch

Here's the thing..!!

break in depends on what your looking at. Gas and oil consumption proabably 3,000 miles engine around 600 or less. Your learning about your roadster about 300 miles. But you can travel at ease you will be back before the 600 mile service (which is on your dime). Don't worry if you go over that mileage it is a reference point. If you trip is mostly freeway try not to find a comfortable speed and hold it for long periods. Speed up and slow down from time to time. Relax and enjoy the ryde...congrats on the new roadster...:yes::ohyea:

You can expect to pay $250 - $300 for the checkup. Suggest during break in that you vary the speeds and the gears. I usually do not exceed posted speeds for the first 500 miles or so. I believe in slow and easy until the parts get worked in a bit. Most people also recommend about 350 miles for tire and brakes.

:congrats: on your new ryde.

Thanks for the help. Glad I found a forum that helps newbies and acknowledges them. I was hoping first service would be on can am with all the money spent. My trip is 3/4 highway so I'll have to do some playing.
Thanks again and I am loving the ryde

There used to be a thread for newbies that gave suggestions on what to expect and how to handle them. Maybe someone on here knows where that thread is located.
