Does anyone know the p/n of the 3rd generation pads? I just want to make sure that if I have a brake job done, I order the latest p/n.
I just had that stop squeak stuff applied to the backs of the rear brake pads today. My mechanic for my car said the caliper would have to be removed to do the front pads. Since you are not supposed to reuse the screws and clips and since I couldn't find a p/n for the individual parts, he was just cleaning the front brakes.

I know this is going to sound crazy but my wife was complaining about the brake squeal Saturday when we were riding and I had read on here about the brakes glazing and a tech said to hit the brakes hard to get rid of it.
So Sunday morning when I went for a ride to check out my Juicebox setting change I hit the brakes hard from about 30mph and noticed afterwards the squeal was gone even when we were riding later 2up.:dontknow::2thumbs:

I have done the "slam the brakes from 60" trick too. It does usually work for a little while.
BRP must just struggle with brakes design. My outlander is obnoxiously loud. Can't wait to ride the side by side up in Chicago next weekend, any bets on whether the brakes will squeel on that!!
I had the new pads put ON 1500 miles ago no noise going forward but backing is a hole nother story i call it the spyder mating call.I have done the "slam the brakes from 60" trick too. It does usually work for a little while.

I for one have not experience brake squeal on my 2008 RS sm5 PE#193, But I have a new set of EBC brake pads in my Spyder parts storage box on hand for when the time comes to replace...freebob...:2thumbs:
I used spray lock lubricant, which is graphite suspended, on the pins on which the brake pads ride[rear only] and that stopped the brake squeal for me.
I just turn the volume up on my MP3 player. It drowns out the squeal every time.:roflblack::roflblack::yes::yes:
