• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Went to work this morning. Noticed the cruise stopped working. by the time I got to work, the cruise decided to start working. All seemed ok!
Went to dinner and my buddy behind, said my brake lights were not working! Seems that the brake lights are on all the time, and on the way home the cruise would not work! Any ideas, anyone? Leaving for a 3000 mile trip monday early, or at least I was! Going to dealer first thing in the morning, and hope they can figure it out, otherwise it's a business trip in the car!! UGH!! :banghead:

The cruise won't work with the brakelight on...that's one of the things that disengages it. I'm assuming you are not inadvertantly riding the brake pedal. Without knowing what modifications you may have, such as foot boards or aftermarket brake pedal extensions, it is hard to guess at a cause. Check to see if your brake pedal is returning all the way, especially if you have an extension, footboard nearby, or you have raised the pad. If there is no interference, there could be a problem with the return spring. If the pedal is all the way up, the problem could be in the brake switch adjustment, brake pedal adjustment, or a failed brake switch. If you have had a chromed brake pedal and/or footpegs installed, or footboards installed, things could have been reassembled wrong. It could also be water in a connector. A wiring short is another possibility.

This situation will cause an additional problem if the brakelight is on but the brakes aren't actually applied. In that case it will eventually result in limp mode and some brake related fault codes. It needs to be addressed right away, for your safety as well as your convenience.

Took BIG RED to the dealer this AM. The cause was the 3 week old tricled. It was a defective kit, and caused a glitch with the brake lites, which then caused the cruise to stop working, as the brakelite would not go off. S'*!t happens. Now off on a quick business trip to Williamsburg, Va, St. Louis, Mo, and back home to New Smyrna, Fl next sunday. Should be good riding weather!

Glad you got it remedied. One lesson to be learned here...if you ask for advice or describe a problem, be sure to mention all related mods and any recent work you may have done just prior to the problem. It may help us home in on the cause more quickly. Internet troubleshooting is harder, slower, and less accurate without all the pieces of the puzzle in front of us. :)
