• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Who has installed a Brake Light Modulator and where did you get it? Am looking at this option to draw more attention to the brake lights to give better warning to the folks behind me.

I use the wig wag from signal dynamics $47 easy install.

I used the Signal Dynamics Wig-Wag Brake Light Modulator because I liked the "back and forth" effect. Here is a video of it on my RT. I installed the wiring AFTER the Custom Dynamics top brake light, so that the top one works like a "normal" brake light. You can get this directly from Signal Dynamics, Amazon.com, or most of the online bike accessory vendors.

Good choice

Custom dynamics makes quality products that connect directly into the factory harness without cutting into that factory harness. I think that you will be pleased with the product. All the Custom Dynamics products that I have both look good and work well.

Custom Dynamics

I am going to go with the Custom Dynamics, plug and play no cutting of wires.

Thanks to all that replied.

The custom dynamics modulator was installed this weekend before the Easter ride, install was simple and works well. The Blaster X pattern is attention getting as well as the strobing one, not sure which I will use on regular basis but folks following me said is was defininately attention getting so the install was worth it. Put about 160 miles on this weekend and attended Blessing of the Bikes, around 50 degrees in the afternoons made for a fantastic Easter.

Modulator

What is the specific model name or number of the modulator you mentioned? Thank you.

The modulator is a Can Am Spyder RT Gen 2 Magic Strobe Brake light flasher Item # Magic-Strobe-RT,

They also have one for the Rs as well. Custom Dynamics is a Spyderlovers sponsor on the main Spyderlovers home page.

Folks, sorry for the dumb question -- but does the 2104 RT-s have LED brakes lights, or are they incandescent. I was watching the Custom Dynamics Gen2 videos, and they mention that certain modes are only for led's, hence the question...

The 2014 has LED rear lights, previous years did not.

Just installed my Can Am Spyder RT Gen 2 Magic Strobe Brake light flasher on my 2014 RT-s this past weekend. Thanks to Finless Bob for his videos -- helped with taking off the back panels/brake lights to get at the connector (because there sure isn't any other way to do it -- not enough slack in the wiring to pull the connector out....).
I DID find that I didn't really need to remove the lower black plastic screws that were on the inside part near the rear tire - with just those attached, that bottom panel rotated down enough to get the brake lights out.
