• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brake light bulbs

To the best of my knowledge, NMN does not make LED replacements for the rear stock tail/brake light bulbs.

The Triple Play includes the logic box and loads for converting the turn signals... not the stock tail/brake light bulbs. And, they are great along with the center LED light!

.

I have so many lights back there I can't even figure out what I have...add the NMN taillight...very sweet!

Well it seems like there is a need for them and if anybody can make a set of diodes that will work without causing limp mode, that would be Magic Man.

I hope he has a set out before I need to replace mine. Sounds like it is a PIA job. I only want to do it once.

Well OK, now I'm a bit confused. But if nobody makes an LED solution to this headache, how about a lens change up? Say something that undoes from the outside with a Phillips screwdriver. Might have to cobble something up, but I don't want to ruin the appearance.

.
I agree with you... not looking to an on-the-road hassle with a bulb change.

I suspect that you can put some other easy-to-get-to tail/brake lights on that use the same bulbs (i.e., same amperage) so that the nanny is happy. Then you could tie in some LEDs (not much amperage there) where the bulbs are now. In fact, I may look at that as an option.

I was thinking that same thing.

I had the right tail light burn out on the very first ride. I put an 1157 in and it's been good ever since. And I would not want to have to do it while on a trip---pain in the azz.

Mine burned out around 500 miles and I replaced with an 1157 and it has held ever since. Replacing with the sport rack on is a PITA for sure. I had no problems with nanny while the one bulb was out so with two barke bulbs you can get to a safe place to replace it if someone lets you know it's out. I check all lights before every ride now.

I added NMN's center taillight, and have HyperLites that double as brake lights, so even if I burn out both bulbs, I can make it home...even if have to do it in limp mode.

My 08 wing also eats bulbs

Nickcaro... stated above the right side of the spyder will pop 3 or 4 bulbs then the left will pop a bulb... if I read it correctly.

I have an 08 wing that on the lower right if you use an LED it will burn it out in about an hour. This bleeds voltage to the brake light side and cancels the cruise control and the brakelights. But only the right side does it. Now seeing that the spyder has some of the same problems kind of makes one wonder about the new modern electrics and relays they are using. I believe I read that they are using bosch relays... makes me wonder about the german quality.

Ok... I am fearful that my question is post elsewhere but I haven't found it yet... So, I am going to walk the plank and ask:
What # of the bulbs for
Tail Light
Brake Light
??
thank you

NMN or the Magicman does infact make LEDs for the brake lights. You have to send your brake light units to him and he will swap them out or buy the whole new unit already done. He has had these for sale now for about 2-3 weeks.

If you read the date of my post, he did not at THAT time. He does NOW and I have them and love them. Read here:

And actually, if you have the extra $90 or so, he can buy the taillights from BRP and pre-install the LEDs. That's what I did. There may be a BRP supply problem at times, though.

If you don't do the NMN LEDS, I hear (do not know first hand) that 1157 dual filiments work.

.

The 1157 bulbs do work. Thats what I have in one of mine, as the original burnt out first time I rode it. And it's been fine for 10,000 plus miles.
