• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a 2011 R T A/C that is showing brake failure on the screen. The emergency brake works, can feel when ingaged and disingaged. Brakes work. Checked levels and fluids and they are all good. Any ideas anyone?:gaah:

be sure that you are checking brake fluid on level ground and that fluid is truly full.

That's all i can help with

Brake fluid may look full. The sensor is way to sensitive and a tablespoon low may set it off. Another possibility, has the brake fluid been changed? That will cause it too. Did on my wife's 2010 RTS.

Curious..!!

have you had the key out and away from the ignition..?? Some brake failure can come from foot on the pedal too long but if the computer doesn't reset that warning stays on...and all of the above...

I do mostly city riding so I do lots of stops and starts. I have 9000 miles on my 2012 RT. What is the norm brake pad life span?

You can ckeck rear pads by laying on floor with mirror if smaller than 2mm they need replacement . My fronts pads 32000 miles still good

This happened to my '11 RT and it took months to figure it out:
It would throw a code, 01282 (I believe). Turned out to be
the "Pin" ( not sure its called that) that the rear pads slide on was corroded just enough to prevent a clean return/release of the pad after applying the brake. Also, that one pad was getting thin because of it on one end but not down to metal. Since I had some new pads from BahaRon, the Mechanic took that pin and thoroughly cleaned it on a wire wheel, applied a tiny bit of moly, and it was good to go again.

Just happened to me on trip, freaked out visited local dealer, new tech to bs with, I was parked on incline facing down fyi, fluid was good & verified, but the incline& me getting on as i cranked caused float to (flip out) & send warning. They gave me a splash to be nice, & good service THX Bradford marine, Springdale AR. Was able to enjoy the rest of trip. Well, had an appointment to bring it in to Route One motorsports, had to bleed the brakes completely. Brakes feel awesome now! Thanks to Route One, you guys are the best!:2thumbs::yes::clap:

Er,, I think it is a parking brake rather than an emergency brake. I don't think I woud like to click it on at any kind of speed.
