• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brake Failure

All,
Came home from work riding my 2010 RT-S SM5 and got an Emergency Brake Failure warning. The emergency brake would not engage before turning off the engine. The brake light would flash 3 times and stop. When the key was removed the Spyder would beep for several seconds. I guess I need to put the brake cable back on the pully myself, can't get the dealer to look at it till next Wednesday. Any suggustions:gaah:

If all it is was the cable coming off the front pulley, it is an easy fix. Pull the right side panels and put it back on. Check to see that the vinyl cable cover is not hagning up on the sheath, and lubricate both ends of the cable, preferably with a silicone or dry lube. I'd still report it to your dealer. There is a service bulletin for this issue that covers some Spyder RTs.

I have the same bike. last weekend pulled into gas station and set the brake and there was a loud beeping...wife and I looking at the car beside us thinking it was them. turned key back on and stopped beeping.... brake failure. Pulled off out of the way and got my BRP tool kit out and put cable back on. Cleaned and lubed when I got back home. Very ease to do. Never knew I had a beeper.
