Brake Failure message

Was looking for someone to mention the above. This is also a very common situation. The first and second times this happened to me, I was going down the Hatcher Pass grade. A beautiful "dragon" type ride with over a 10 mile very steep grade. Turned out to be low fluid in both cases. A tablespoon of brake fluid cured the situation both times.

I seems crazy that as little as a tablespoon top up is enough!!!! to go from low to high

IMO it does not seem crazy, it is crazy. Just another poorly engineered part of these machines.

The system is VERY sensitive. Some use a clean plastic straw. Put it into the brake fluid container, place a finger on top of the straw then let the amount of fluid in the straw drain into the reservoir. But as Mike said, be very careful not to get any brake fluid on any part of the bike. And, before you even open the reservoir cap, clean the area well so nothing accidentally falls into it...... Jim
