• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brake failure alarm message

We just put new tires on my 2016 RT and all seems well. The screen is showing Brake Failure. Any ideas of how to reset this? I already tried ignition off/on and hold down brake pedal.

Brake Fluid

I had a 13 Rts that was sensitive to the brake fluid level.
It had about 10k miles or so and the brakes had enough wear on them for the fluid level
to be low enough to show (brake failure) on the dash.
It seemed like it only took about 3 table spoons of fluid to top it off.

Here's the thing....

Having had the tires changed can affect the brakes. When the rear wheel is removed they have to deal with the caliper. Don't know their method but if they messed with the resivior they may have lowered the fluid level spreading the pads..:dontknow: in which case you need fluid. If they somehow changed the alignment of the abs sensor it may need to be adjusted. Sometimes you need to Ryde a bit so the computer sees the brakes are working and have pressure. Check brake light and switch just in case...

:agree: &99.9999999999% of time it's just low fluid, the .000000001 it's the caps are simply on wrong. The V slit (hard to see)on the inside rubber diaphragm needs to point to the back of bike:thumbup: the fluid can be low just a minimal amount, they are hyper sensitive :dontknow: & ONLY with DOT4 brake fluid:lecturef_smilie:

If the light has been on since the tire change, then most likely the installer spread the rear pads to install the rear caliper. If you turn the key on before you pump the brakes back up, it will cause the brake failure light. With the bike off, press brake lever down hard and keep it there, then turn key on. This should clear the fault. If not, then you will need BUDS to clear it. Anytime the calipers are off the bike and re-installed, always pump the brakes up hard before turning the key on.
