• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Bouncy noisy trunk on 2021 RT

Not sure if anyone else has noticed the way the trunk bounces and makes noise on bumps or rough roads. Wondering what solutions others have come up with. I did notice there are 2 holes in the panel under the trunk(next to the rectangular holes. I am planning to use them to make my trunk more secure. I will always have the trunk on, so easy removal is not needed. Now I just need to figure out how to secure it using the holes.

Are you sure the round lock is actually locked? I think more find it too tight rather than too loose but anything's possible. That's the 1st thing I'd check. It's also possible, given BuRPs stellar reputation for supurb quality control that this wasn't even locked from the factory.

Surely you jest......lol.

I agree, make sure it is locked, if so you should be able to adjust it to take up the slack. Mine is rock solid.

I am not super familiar with 21 RT ...... I have a 14 same as yours .... that Frunk is held on by hanging the molded clips onto a bracket .... the other 8 bolts are there to keep the Frunk from moving around ..... Take a look at a Parts Fiche' and see if the 21 RT has two bolts under the Frunk .... these would prevent the Frunk from having that " bouncing " feeling .... good luck .... Mike

I have the same issue 2020 RTL. Took trunk off, on VERY TIGHT. Mess with the adjustments, actually loosened, then tighten back. Ended up the noise went away, or I should say, it's still there but I'm not noticing it now. I just went out and manually bounced the trunk and could hear it hitting the frame. I WAS going to cut a piece of thick rubber mat I have and wedge in there, but actually forgot about it, since I'm not hearing it now.

SO..... If I start noticing it again, I'll trying wedging a piece of the mat in there. If you come up with a better idea post here, be interested if you can solve it. Feel there's something not right because others say theirs is rock solid.

Mine is locked. There is not adjustment on the lock. The bottom of the trunk where the lock is seems to flex a little on large bumps. I could here a clunk when I hit a good bump in the road. Just seems like it should be more solid.

There is no adjustment on the lock.

There IS the ability to slightly adjust the lock. The lock is held in place with a Nylok nut and bolt. You can loosen/tighten that nut a little bit. I've got a LinQ plate and a Shad top case. I've had to loosen the nut quite a bit (maybe too much) in order to get the plate to lock to the bike. If yours is a little loose, you might be able to slightly tighten that nut. Maybe it won't matter but it's worth a shot.

Your post triggered my memory. I recall now that I discovered that the flexing was right around the locking mechanism in the circular part the plastic is simply too thin there. You could maybe put some epoxy in there to beef that area up but it would to me being a messy fix and as long as I'm not hearing it often I'm just going to let it be.

Hmmm...if by trunk, you mean top case, maybe it is low/high air in the air bag. I was having a similar issue with my RT's top case whenever I hit a bump/pothole. I know the S2S is supposed to have the auto leveling "suspension", but there has been reported issues of it not being connecting properly on some of the RTLs causing the bags to have too little or too much air. In turn, a nice bump was felt and heard.
My RT had 0 air in the bag. So, I manually inflated to ~55 psi. That eliminated most of the bang that was felt and heard.

I fixed it. Drilled 2 holes and added 2 long pushpins. I am sure it also help if I put something in it. The bike is new, so it hasnt accumulated lots of junk yet.

It actually occurred to me that the reason that I was no longer in hearing my trunk bounce was because I got stuff in it now and before it was empty. If I hear a bouncing I'll get me some push pins.
