• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone where I can purchase the screws(bolts) that hold the tupperware together on an RS?
BRP wants too much for them. I was hoping to find a source that's a little cheaper.
Thanks
Rick

Forget 'em. Replace them with 14 mm Dzus fasteners available at Kurveygirl.com. You'll be able to peel your plastic faster than a hungry monkey peels a banana.

Are these like the three on the left side panel or something different?

I got my screws from Kurveygirl.com today. Fast shipping. The screws work great. I can remove my tupperware real easy now. The advice I've gotten from this site is very helpful. Thanks all!

I'm not sure. Are the screws on an RT the same size and length? Hope someone else can answer. The ones I used were 14 mm dzus. They also come in 12mm.
Hope this helped.

Thanks...I'm going to order a few things from this website...kurveygirl.com
this past summer one of the screws from under the seat fell out (my bad...didn't tighten it all the way back) and when it fell out of all places it hit the ABS trigger wheel and bent 6 or 7 of those thingies ...I went into "Limp mode"...we took a hammer and chisel and straightened them back...I have put another 6,000 miles on the bike and all seems to be OK....so I really want some spares.....

Lost one from under the tail section while working on a project and never could find it - took a screw to the local ace hardware and had them match it up - Stainless Steel - but worked well and at about a $1.00 a screw sure beat the BRP price.

Dzus fasteners

I changed all my torx screws to Dzus fasteners tonight. A Dremmel tool is very handy for this job.

What a useful and easy mod. Thanks for the good tip. I used 14mm all the way around.

I've gotta do that to my RTS....

How many did you buy and did you use any D rings or all button heads and did you do the bottom pieces too?

Thanks

Did I read that right on Kurvygirl or am I missing something?..$6.00 for one 14mm button head?..Sounds kind of expensive to do a whole Spyder..

Trimming the notches with a dremel was not the way to go. It was fast and simple with a pair of side cutters on the plastic and I found you just need to put the clips on from the side on the steal tabs.

Body screws/Druz fastners

I just checked the Kurveygirl site and they have 10 packs of 14mm fasteners for $30 a pack, that's about $3 a fastener, pricey, but should be worth it in saved time. I never counted all the screws I had to remove to strip :f_spider: but I don't think it was 40. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time :roflblack:.

I changed most of mine to Dzus fasteners like the ones on the tupperware at the oil tank. I got them from http://www.kurveygirl.com/ . There alot cheaper than the screws and it's make for easy tupperware removal and remounting, and no lost screws. That IMHO.

The 16mm that some use on the bottom stuff is $6, plus something like .75 cents for the fastener.

Evidently the 14 mm work ok, with a little extra effort.

Still, the darn things are expensive, but convenient. :yikes:

I think these are a good idea if you remove the panels a lot..I had already bought me a 1/4 " air ratchet that fits great in smaller places from Harbor Freight for app $15.00..That worked out good when I recently installed my handbrake and highway pegs!
