Saw the new :spyder2: you are ordering. You don't have it yet I hope. PLEASE don't spoil it with all those decals at first. Enjoy the colors and comments you will get before you do. When you get tired of the way it looks then go ahead and decorate it so it reflects who you are. This is just a request, not a command.

I have seen some beautiful :spyder2: s that have been ruined by putting all that stuff on with out stopping to think what it is going to look like. I have also seen some real pretty :spyder2:s. It's kind of like women. I never saw one that wasn't beautiful, but I have seen a bunch that were just were just barely. Same goes for:spyder2:s

It's not a farkle, if it was in the bike at the time of purchase. I think we've all figured out why Bob promised to stay away from farkles to get the 2014. It'll be part of the "package". You go Bob.

I hear what you are saying about the wraps (decals) and I agree; but, try convincing the owner they made a poor choice. I think you know as well as I do that the only opinions that count are the owner's and all those that told him/her it looks great.

I like, to varying degrees, nearly all the Spyders I've seen. But there have been a few that my first impression is 'I would never do that to mine'. Still, what does my opinion matter? Honestly, I know it doesn't matter at all

I fully support the owner doing whatever they want with their ride.

My Spyder is pretty plain and I'm sure 'Ugly' to some. Doesn't bother me because I like it that way.

Some do Farkle-Mania, some run plain Jane. Most are in-between.

Let the owner have their fun, I say; and it's all good!

I like it when people put all their "touches" on their Spyders, because when it doesn't work-out so well in other people's opinion, then my stock Spyder looks all the better for it. :roflblack:

Seriously... it takes all-kinds, and all-kinds like different things -- whether anyone else likes it or not. I am sure each of us have seen, in our opinion, horrible customization. If I am being honest, I have more times than I care to mention.

I, personally, am not a fan of "farkles" for "farkling's sake". I think less-is-more. Too much farkling begins to looks like the old Harleys I saw at their museum in Milwaukee. Stickers, blinkers, reflectors, sparkles, dangles, and etc. Not for me, but I still look at them.

I would rather only add performance parts. I could care less how my Spyder looks.

Besides... if you are riding it no one can see any customizing on it anyway. It is only when you are sitting around it that anyone notices "stuff".

However, as I said... it takes all-kinds, and all-kinds like different things. That is a good thing when the day is done.:thumbup:

I learned a trick when I was riding my Wineberry Red 'Wing to Lake George each year...
It involves lots of crime scene tape, some white chalk, and the ability to draw the outline of a victim on the pavement...
I always found my bike!! :thumbup:

Farkles

When I bought my spyder I also had to promise it would NOT be farkled .Had GW before that and it was all farkled up ( not what it's called on a wing though ) and so far the wife has made me keep my promise. I would farkle though if I wanted to....LOL Would love to have some of the lighting I had installed on the wing , sure did look purty at night .Buddy has a wing ( orange ) and he found some valve caps that look like pumpkins ....just sayin....LOL Whatever someone does to their bike won't please everyone and it don't have to. If'n ya don't like it then don't look .
