• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Bluetooth Headsets

Need to purchase bluetooth headsets for driver/passenger before trip to Maggie Valley. Not sure what to buy. Reviews are all over the map. Don't know what to believe. Looking at JM, Scala, Sena and Chatterbox. Any advise on what is the latest and greatest and best performing is appreciated. $$$ is not a factor. Do not want to end up with buyer's remorse. Thanks.

I don't have one, but rather still lust over one. . . .The Sena unit was voted WebBikeWorld 2010 Product of the Year. Many people on SpyderLovers have it. Go to WebBikeWorld and read the reviews. Very thorough. Then make your choice. Sena is how I would go.

My wife & I got a pair of Hawk helmets w/ bluetooth from Leather-up.com and are real happy as they support A2DP on our iphones(can stream music, talk on phone, intercom driver-pasengger,hear GPS app's turn by turn etc.) and they were under $200.

Went with the Sena SMH 10 Units

Again after reading the Bike World report
Can't fault them

I have bluetoothed my Radio/Aux output from my Spyder RT -S by using AUTOCOM-2275
=Autocom Stereo Music Lead With Switch (Car Stereo Type With Speakers)
connected via the Front speakers - Rear speakers could be used instead
into a a Sony TMR - BT10 Bluetooth Stereo transmitter output connected via bluetooth to the Sena SMH 10 units

If I don't want to use the Spyders Audio system - The Sena's can be connected again via bluetooth to my Zumo 660 GPS which gives clear
Telephone, GPS Directions and MP3 Playback - I have over 3000 tracks recorded

Excellent sound quality, Very easy to operate esp with gloved hands
(Jog dial) long battery life - No wires needed between Radio etc and Headset
Always used hot wired Autocom system before - Pain in having to disconnect each time leaving the bike - Ist time using Bluetooth
would not go back now

UClear HBC100

I've got a UClear HBC100 http://www.uclear-digital.com/products.html and I think it's great. I have a full-face helmet (Arai Profile) and I like the fact that the mic is boomless.

I've not used it as an intercom yet, but for tunes and bluetooth phone, it's been great. It took me a little futzing to get the earpieces in the right place. The placement is critical, as the mic(s) have a shaped focus to isolate your voice.

The sound is quite good, even up to highway speeds. I kind of have to shout "HELLO!" to get the voice command answering to pick up, but after that I can speak at a more-or-less conversational tone. People on the other end say I sound a bit muffled, but understandable. I attribute some of that to my helmet. There's an installation video on YouTube, where they install the unit into a Bell helmet, and it's different than how I had to install it in the Arai.

We have the Scala unit and have only used them twice on short trips, but haven't paired them up to the gps or phones. They are a pain to get to actually turn on and off. Once they are on they work great.

I throw on my endorsement for the Midland BT2 setup. I got the pair for $170 from buy dot com and they have performed well for phone, music, gps and person to person. I eventually bought another mount kit so I could use with my summer helmet.

I have had the cardo scala Q2 units for 3 years and love them. I have since upgraded to the G4 and it even has a longer range. The only problem is the initial pairing of the units seem to be a pain but after that no problems. I have logged over 25k miles on the spyder and probably over 12,000 miles using the scala's with either rider and passenger (my daughter) or one of my buddies on his bike with bike to bike. I also have used a lot of bluetooth audio streaming from my iphone which also works great!

Have Scala Q2 and G4. Son and grandson use Q2 and other son and I use G4 we've paired them all up as per instructions and paired with GPS and DroidX.:yes:

Son and grandson a few days ago while returning from Washington DC on their Kawasaki's had an accident on I295 at 70mph and credit the communication with possibility of saving their lives.

Thanks to everyone that responded. I flipped a coin (two headed) and went with the Sena which I ordered yesterday. The kit now includes a roll of duct tape for the passenger (significant other). :D
