• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

thank you very much for that explanation - thats sort of what I thought about that cable

thank you very much Bob

if I get stuck I will PM you

I assume you are using standard 20 gauge wire?

The unit does not need heavy wire! The USB cord for power is what it is and for sure not 20 gauge! Most USB plugs are rated for PC power and less than an AMP. They are probably like 28 gauge.
The audio is also not 20 gauge. It does not need to be as it is a low level signal. So use what you can find as it really does not matter.

For audio, I ordered the cable from Mouser Electronics, and just soldered the terminals on to the end of the wire.
For the power, I had an extra micro USB cable laying around, so I cut the standard USB end off, and used the wires.

I know the pins I listed are supposed to be solderless, but since the pins are like 10 cents each, and the crimp tool for the pins was listed at $650.00, I decided to do a combination. I used a tiny bit of solder, then crimped. works great, and saved a ton of money.

I installed mine in about an hour and a half. I mounted it in the trunk using one of the mounting brackets. I used the screw on the right side cover in the trunk to hold the bracket.
