• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Blowing brake light fuses

The wife's 2014 RTS SE6 is blowing brake light fuses as fast as we can replace them, I have
pulled up code C0040 and C006C. Any ideas as we are 700 miles from home.
It has not gone into limp mode and we are riding both bikes and need to get it home to our
dealer. I am thinking just follow her as mine has brake lights unless there is something simple
I can do to fix this, any thoughts or ideas.
Thanks,
Toby

C0040,VCM ,Brake pedal switch failure (BLS).
Mechanical defect or wrong mounting of BLS.
Brake Light circuit open or defective brake light bulbs.
Check BLS (brake light switch) fault on ECM .
Check brake light bulbs.
Check BLS.

The next one will probably go away if the Brake Light Switch problem is solved

C006C,ECM ,VSS CAN (control area network) rate message error.
Communication on CAN BUS not reliable.
No external troubleshooting possible.

It actually sounds more like a skinned wire than a Brake Light Switch failure because of the blown fuses

Thanks, I just spoke with my dealer and they said the same thing, and I just realized my high mount
light is not working as a running light but my lower running lights are so I think that's the place to start.
Thanks for the fast reply.
