• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone seen headlight/fog light reflectors that are black. Im not a big fan of the giant shiny chrome things currently on the front of my ride. also having a hard time finding this item, maybe custom but open for suggestions. Machine is a 16 RTL. Thanks for any help. Chris

It would be helpful to give the model and year of your mystery Spyder.

Edit. Thanks for adding your model and year to your original post.

I am betting if you were to remove your headlights and take them apart
mask everything off and paint them black covering all chrome reflecting
areas and then put them together, reinstall them on the Spyder your
head lights at night would not be much better than a cheap flashlight...

Me too!

I have an intense red 2016 RTS that I removed all the "aluminum" colored pieces and painted with black PlastiDip. Love the look. It does look like you can get to the interior of the lamps to undertake this project, and using PlastiDip would let you reverse it easily. I'm saving this for a winter project.

I have some experience with headlight design and testing. The chrome looking surfaces in the RT headlight has nothing to do with the light output or quality. So blacking them out will not cause any harm to the headlight performance. I will make a serious guess that the chrome looking coating is actually aluminium deposited in a plasma vacuum chamber. It is highly unlikely that whatever coating you put on them will be reversible. Every headlight I have experience with, the lens was glued to the housing and could not be taken apart. But the Spyder headlights may be different.

If you try it, let us know how you make out.

So you're looking for something like this?
Black 16 RT.jpg
I wonder if you disassembled a set and Black Chromed the reflectors you'd get what you're looking for?
Could be an expensive test though.

:D I'm wondering if this is what the 10th Anniversary Bikes are really gonna look like? :dontknow:

If it is: BRP may be able to help you out!

As I see it...

If you can get in there to blacken it out you will be fine. Those are projection lights and rely on reflecting. You will loose the whole reflection when night ryding.
