Billet Front Axle Kit Issue

BRP recently announced their 40% savings offer:


One of the items is the Billet Front Axle Kit. If you order this be aware that it's only for model year 2010 and earlier. That little fact is hard to spot. I ordered one for my 2011 by mistake and the eight bolts that come with it are way too short. It seems that BRP added spacers to the front fender mounts for 2011 onward for some reason. Now I have to find 8 M8 x 35mm allen SS bolts for it.

Edit Update: WARNING, Do not purchase or use this kit for a 2011 onward RS or RS-S. The new spacers that BRP installed on the fender brackets push the kit out so far that they contact the front lower shock mount. This could cause a possibly very dangerous steering issue. BRP should have made it very clear that mounting the kit on a 2011-2012 RS could be dangerous.

If you have a Lowe's or Home Depot, I'd check there first.

Have a look in your yellow pages and you may find a business that caters to other off road speed equipment...they probably have what you need.

They have them on McMaster Carr. You'll need eight M8 X 1.25 pitch X 35mm length stainless steel socket head. 40mm might also work and I did find them at Lowes but they were not stainless steel.

Also because of the new spacers on 2011-2012 front fender mounts there might be a clearance issue with the cover. I plan on mounting the kit as soon as my bolts arrive so you may want to wait for the results before you order.
