Biketoberfest

If the weather cooperates, will likely ride up on the 18th. I have a nice 80+ mile ride on US1 from Melbourne. Last year I bought my tee shirt, took some pictures and looked around. Was back in Melbourne before dark. I don't really like mobs and don't drink when I'm driving. Has anyone heard if BRP will be there? Last Octoberfest they were on the east end of the grounds.

BRP will not be there. The Florida BRP rep told CFPS that they were coming and then just recently the Regional VP for BRP corrected that and said BRP WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE THERE.. Actually most of the manufacturers have cancelled for this event.

Oh Well. I go there to see parts manufacturers and visit friends. If I change out my clutch, I might just roll in on 2 instead of 3. After all, it is BIKEtoberfest.

I've been trying to get an answer from BRP with no results :banghead:

Bottomline is I'll be there and so will Spyderpops so maybe we can figure on some meeting place to hangout when we're not riding if they don't show. It would be pretty sad if they don't show. :sour:

I printed out the 2012 map showing all the vendor areas at Daytona International. They show a space designated as Spyder Demo Tour in the same location they've been before fronting on ISB just north of Tram Stop 17. The area is designated as Lot 1 & Daytona Motorcycle Marketplace. Hope the map is telling us the truth. Flying down 13th for 10 days.

Sorry but I just found out that ALL of the OEM manufacturers have pulled out of the Daytona event including BRP. :gaah:

WOW, guess that just makes it a ride to Daytona for the ride. Must be the economic times hitting everyone.

Correct:The American International Motorcycle Expo (AIME) has signed a three-year contract to host its show at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Marketplace Events announced in early May. The trade show will be held Wednesday, Oct. 16, and Thursday, Oct. 17, with the consumer event starting Friday, Oct. 18, running through Sunday. The AIME show was unveiled in January, but the dates and location weren’t narrowed until recently.
“Orlando is the best pick right now to launch this show, to really launch the engagement and the excitement that the show is going to create,” said Little, vice president and general manager of Marketplace Events’ Motorcycle Group.

For $30 a ticket motorcycles will be allowed to do two laps around the Daytona International Speedway. I do believe it is at 5:00 pm on that Friday. I did it last year. It was a blast. And will be doing it again this year! :yes:
