There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I received an email a few months back about rating spyderlovers 5 stars. It said something about by rating 5 stars that increases the standing of SL's on the internet groups. At that time I found it funny because I had a few posts pulled. As far as gifting, I don't remember. This may be completely different then what the OP received.

The site dont send out emails asking for anything of that nature, if you still have the email, forward it to me, as i need to see the header of the email to see what IP actually sent it.
Even if it says it came from a spyderlovers.com email address, thats easy to forge.

I put it in the trash when I got it. But, since you responded, do the number of posts on a site increase the sites standing on the various forums?

I think he is asking if the post count contributes to the search standing (Google) of Spyderlovers.com when competing against other, similar forums. I would guess that it does.

If that is what he was referring to, then no, post counts arent a part of search engine ranking for any site.
