• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Better Buy

A FB friend asked me what will be the best buy, a 2012 RT Ltd, $16000 with 9K miles or a 14 RT-S SE6 for $18500 and 7K? Off hand I would say the 14 but wasn't there an underlying issue with this year?

14 is the better buy of the two. (bigger engine, tires, brakes, more gears and probably still under warranty) No issues.

You would definitely be happier with the 2014 cuz of the engine and transmission.

There is one major issue with the 14's - That they did not come out in 13 when I purchase my first one.. Get the 14 !!

And I came very close to purchasing a 2013--because I wanted yellow. The fates were on my side and I waited until 2014. I do not regret my waiting. The three cylinders are a better iteration of the RT. I have one of each though.

Get the 14 and you should be able to do a bit better than 18.5 on price.

You do not want the 12, at its very overpriced for today's market. Closer to 12k retail.

the 14, however keep in mind i just bought a new 15 for 18,999 from Imotorsports that shipped to me for free. It was the base model but you dont lose much from the S in my opinion. Fog lights, different fenders that i didnt like as much, a two tone seat (seat is the same just two colors) push button adjustable rear suspension (you can manually adjust on the base model) and heated passenger grips (base still has heated driver grips)

I agree also on the 14 for purchase; just not at those inflated prices

:agree::agree::agree::agree::agree:...............and with latony007 above and others you / they can get a better price...used 14's are now becoming more common place ......just check E-bay..........Mike

Wow, Inflated prices untell it's time to sell. If you have never been on a 1330 you will never miss it. the 12 limited is a fine machine and many have logged a lot miles without issues including myself.

Everything is subject to final negotiations. Remember CASH is king, especially with privet sellers. Go in with only what you are willing to spend and be ready to walk. Amazing things happen when you turn around with cash in your pocket. Ooo... take your biggest best friend with you!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Yes, I would go for the 14.

I'm in....

:agree: with all those that said go for the 14. For most of the reasons mentioned...

One thing that wasn't discussed is the warranty issue. The 12, assuming the original buyer max'd out the B.E.S.T. warranty, will only have a year, at most, of warranty left, and won't have any warranty if no B.E.S.T. was purchased. The 14 should still have warranty left and if no B.E.S.T. was purchased, it isn't too late to get one. Since your friend is buying a used Spyder, having a few years of warranty is a very good thing - these toys are expensive to fix!
