• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not for the Ryker... Yet. Aftermarket vendors like to wait to see what volume will be before launching out into production. I would be surprised if we see anything show up this year. Though you never know.
 
I quit like the brakes on my Ryker, I have had to make a few fast stops. They work well and not grabby or spongy. Could there be air in your brakes?
 
I must say that I am a bit disappointed in the braking on my Ryker Rally. Don't get me wrong. Braking on the Ryker is definitely adequate. But I was hoping for impressive. My Spyder stops better. But then I'm running EBC Brakes (Pads Only) on my Spyder. My Spyder would stop even better with a set of EBC rotors. I am sure, with a brake pad upgrade, my Ryker would stop better. Hopefully, EBC or some other aftermarket manufacturer will put out a better product.

Whenever I switched from OEM brake pads to EBC HH, the improvement in braking performance was dramatic.
 
The organic pads used on the Spyder are primarily used for noise control. Other advantages are low cost, usually less brake dust, and they are very easy on the rotors (though I've never seen anyone wear out a rotor on a motorcycle. Warp, yes, ground down too thin to use, no).

Disadvantages are; they tend to fade more quickly, they do not stop as well, and they do not last as long. So the search was on for a pad that stopped as well as a semi-metallic pad (which the first Spyders did come with and stopping ability was impressive). But without the noise that you get from semi-metallic pads. Especially for racing. Semi-metallic pads are also very hard on rotors and the brake dust rusts and adheres to the wheel making a mess.

That is when EBC and others came up with the Sintered pads. They use a copper alloy compound instead of actual steel bits embedded into the pad material. They stop nearly as well as the semi-metallic, the brake dust does not rust or adhere to the wheel, they don't fade and they last longer. Though a bit more aggressive against the rotor, they don't produce that much more rotor wear when compared to the organic pads.

Organic pad producers and vendors will use words like Kevlar to tout their product and charge more for it. But it is still just an organic pad. Some do work better than others. But the BRP organic pads work about as well as any out there.

They do not have the Ryker yet. I guess I will have to wait.

I used to be partners in a Brake Shop in National City, CA. We had a supplier that would put any lining on any shoe or pad, or sell you the material and you could apply it yourself. It's possible that you could find such a supplier and, if they had the correct material, do it yourself. Interesting possibility, at least.
 
Rogue Hawk, I wonder if your pads could be glazed. It might be worth a try to remove the pads and spray well with brake cleaner and rough up the surfaces on a sheet of emery paper (on a flat surface of course). Then give the rotors a good roughing up with more brake cleaner and a green scotch brite pad. Then more brake cleaner on everything, reassembly, and start over the break-in procedure. It can't hurt
